Hi I'm Dan Cosens

My goal for career is to go into Automotive restoration , Im serving in the Nebraska Omaha Mission

About Me

I can be a jack of all traits sometimes. I enjoy the outdoors, camping, hiking, fishing, I love sports I enjoy playing tennis, football, snowboarding and I like to try new things that most people won't try like. I like to go cliff diving, rock climbing and I want to go sky diving and try so much more I use to be terrified of heights, until my brother sent me down a skateboard roll in that was between 2 or 3 stories high with a jump at the end and I crashed and realized that it wasn't to bad. I plan on going to a Automotive trade-school when I get back from my mission which will be in a short two years I wasn't planning on going on one until this last year when God let me know what I should do. So I took the money I saved up for 1969 Chevell Malibu and used it for my mission I felt it was the least thing I could do for the Lord since he gave me a opportunity to realize where I was at and where I was going I know the Lord has been there for me all my life even though it took me forever to realized.

Why I am a Mormon

My family at home are the first converts and they converted when I was 4 I was baptized at 8 but only going through the motions I never sought out for the truth. By age 14 I stop having to do anything with the church and became a Athiest because people said I wouldn't make it to high school because of the crowd I was around with and that I would die so I believed them and I wen't down a dark road with some addictions and questioned life serval times because others told me I shouldn't even try because I was going to go to hell anyways so I believed it form 14 to about 18. Until I got to an eye awaking from my addiction I had hit rock bottom. While all of this was going on my mom had Lupus and the doctors said that she had not much time to live so she wasn't able to know, because she was sick my dad had to work harder to try to support the family I kept to myself. But as time went on my mom got a priesthood blessing and she was healed from Lupus and lives today she found out that I was going through all this when I was about 18 and told me that I should pray to the Lord to see if he was truely there and ask for him to help heal me. And I did and I felt his love so strong that I cleaned up my acted and it was one of the tougheist thing I have ever done but I put my faith in him and I was able to come closer to him and have so much joy in my life and was able to overcome anything by asking for help and I was able to prove a lot of people wrong by making it to high school and going from a 1.75 to a 4.00 GPA and I know I couldn't have overcomed that with out the Lord. The Lord loves me so much that he made sure that I would be able to overcome my past by asking for his help and I know God loves us all because he gave his only begotten son to atone for the world so we can be cleansed from sin. I know this to be the true church of Christ because I found out for myself by searching and pondering the Book of Mormon and asking God and he revealed it to me and I am a Mormon...

How I live my faith

At this moment I am serving a 2 year mission in Nebraska Omaha Mission. As a missionary I go and share the restore gospel and how it was restored through a prophet named Joesph Smith just like in the old times and in the Bible, and I believe in the Bible and the Book of Mormon which is a volume of holy scriptures comparable to the Bible and has to do with Gods dealings in the Americas both books testify of truth of each other and I know this by reading. And by studying the Book of Mormon it has helped me through so many things and has helped guide me to become into the man I am now and I have received answers to my question about life that I wondered through this great book. And I live my faith by bringing others to Christ so that they can experience the same true happiness that I have found out by joining The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. By coming closer to the Savior He can and will help you through anything. I know this because I was able to overcome so many things that I could succeed in life and be happy. The Lord loves us all and wants to see us happy and succeed and want's to help us but we have to ask Him, by asking He can and will help you through anything I know that I am given weakness to learn from them and I know my trails has help strengthen me and realize the help I need from my Savior Jesus Christ.

Are Mormons Christians?

Dan Cosens
Yes we are Christian we believe that Jesus Christ is our Savior and Redeemer and by his Atonement " His suffering in Gethsemane and his Crucifixion and Resurrection" we are able to return to our Father in Heaven and live as families together for time and eternity if we do our part."But these are written, that ye might believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God; and that believing ye might have life through his name." (John 20:31) Show more Show less

What is the Book of Mormon?

Dan Cosens
The Book of Mormon is another testament of Jesus Christ and it has to do with Gods dealings with his people here in America and shows how God doesn't just love his people in Jerusalem but how he also loves his people here in America and I know it goes hand and hand with the Bible and they both testify of each other and the truth and divinity of Jesus Christ and by reading from The Book of Mormon and applying the things learned in there has help me come closer to Heavenly Father and his only begotten son Jesus Christ and I know by the power of the Holy Ghost that it is the word of God. Do Mormons worship Joseph Smith?

Dan Cosens
We only worship God father and in his son Jesus Christ. Joseph Smith was a man called of God to be a prophet to restore/bring back the church that Jesus Christ established when he was here being built upon Apostle and Prophets." Now therefore ye are no more strangers and foreigners, but fellow citizens with the saints, and of the household of God; And are built upon the foundation of the apostles and prophets, Jesus Christ himself being the chief corner stone. (Ephesians 2: 19-20)" Show more Show less

Do you really believe there is a prophet like Moses alive today?

Dan Cosens
I know that there is a living Prophet today that is one way the Lord lets us know that he loves and cares about us because it doesn't make sense to me that God would only call prophets back then to lead us and warn us about danger and not do that any more, because it say ins the bible in (Hebrews 13:8) "Jesus Christ the same yesterday, and to day, and for ever." So if he would call prophets back then why wouldn't he do it today. Show more Show less

Do Mormons only help Mormons?

Dan Cosens
I believe that we all need to serve one another it doesn't matter who you are or what you have done in your life we are all children of our father in heaven and Jesus Christ gave that perfect example to all of us how he went to heal the sick and afflicted and give to the needed. My motto I like to go by is found in (Mathew 25:40) " Inasmuch as ye have done it unto one of the least of these my brethren, ye have done it unto me." Jesus tells us that when we serve others no matter who they are we are only serving him I feel so much closer to my savior when I am serving others. Show more Show less

Why is The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints called Mormons or Mormonism?

Dan Cosens

What is the Word of Wisdom that Mormons talk about?

Dan Cosens
The Word of Wisdom is simply a commandment God gave to Joesph Smith to help us all have healthier and happier life. A it can be broken down. *Coffee *Alcohol *Tea *Tobacco * Illegal drugs I we want to have our bodys be healthy we will obey God Commandments because into today's world these things harm our bodies and kill us faster and tear families apart.
