Hi I'm Dane

I'm a thinker, I'm an innovator, I'm an artist and photographer and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I love learning. I'm an artist by nature. I love the energy and expression that comes from creating music and art. For me, art is an outlet that allows me to be free. I collect vinyl records and vintage film cameras. I take lots of photos. I shop at thrift stores. I buy lots of sunglasses. I think about things WAY too much. I love snowboarding! I'm fascinated at the great variety of people and places here on the earth. I love learning. I love my family, and I'm learning how to find joy in living, wherever I may be.

Why I am a Mormon

Because the Gospel of Christ fills me up! I'm motivated by a knowledge that God answers our prayers. The scriptures speak to my mind and my heart. The Gospel is "the good news", the best news I've ever heard. I crave the guidance and assurance of the Holy Ghost in my life, and have found that fulfillment only within the teachings of God. When I read the Book of Mormon, I feel the power of God. But most of all, the teachings of Jesus Christ have shown me how to be happy, how to forgive, how to love, and how to live.

How I live my faith

I take what I learn and strive to apply it in my life. I want to be a doer. Following the Gospel isn't a once-a-week event. It's something I have to work on, to apply in everything I do. I do my best to be a good example to my friends and family. Basically, my faith impacts every choice I make- and helps me choose the better path.

How can we come to know our Father in Heaven?

First, we must have an overwhelming desire to know him. Then we must pray with all of our might to be filled with his love. Then, show our faith by living the commandments, reading the scriptures, praying daily, and striving to love others. By following this inspired pattern, we come to know and love our Father in Heaven.
