Hi I'm Rob

I'm an air traffic controller, a husband, a father, a family guy, a wannabe comedian, a stock market enthusiast and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm a guy who rushes home from work to see my wife and kids. I am totally happy being a "family guy"! I've been an U.S. Air Force officer, a missionary in Mendoza Argentina, a pilot, an airport manager, and a BYU Men's choir member. Today my pursuits include trading on the stock market, making others laugh, running, being the neighborhood tutor, studying economics, eating healthy, playing sports, and helping others save money. I'm an avid podcast listener who enjoys being a lifelong student; learning all I can about all things Christianity, finances, Spanish, economics, relationships, women's issues, Mormon studies, markets, etc. My main interests are in loving my wife and helping my children in any way I can.

Why I am a Mormon

I'm a Mormon because there is so much inherent goodness in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. It makes me want to be a better person. It helps me become a better person. It helps our family find true joy in this life and provides hope for us to actually be together forever…with our Heavenly Father and his Son, Jesus Christ. My conversion to the restored gospel of Jesus Christ happened on my feet; not while on my knees in spite of repeated asking. I had to actually get up and act on my faith before my Father in Heaven answered me. And the answer which came was real. In addition to the undeniable spiritual convincing, I'm a Mormon because the doctrine is so logical, rational and reasonable. It answers the questions of where we came from, why we are here, where we go after this life, and what God's purpose is for us...but most importantly it shows me how Jesus Christ fits in to every aspect of it all. The restored gospel of Jesus Christ which He revealed to Joseph Smith makes sense, tastes good, feels good, and is good. Check it out; because you'll never really know until you try it.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by what I do and by what I don't do. I do try to develop a relationship with Jesus Christ by studying his life and teachings and by serving Him. I learn of Him and His teachings by studying the Book of Mormon 'Another Testament of Jesus Christ' and the Bible. Then I try to serve him; “For how knoweth a man the master whom he has not served, and who is a stranger unto him, and is far from the thoughts and intents of his heart? (Mosiah 5:13)”. I believe that serving Him means helping "one of the least of these my brethren (Matthew 25:40)". Inside the church I've been a singing teacher to children, a clerk, a teacher, a counselor, a missionary, and a member of many service projects and random acts of kindness. Outside the church, I've volunteered to help my neighbors, country, schools, and community as an academic tutor, serviceman (veteran), and another guy with gloves, a shovel, or paint brush (you get the idea). I don't do things which would lead to me away from God or cause me to loose agency such as addictions, debt, dishonesty or unfaithfulness. I want to return to God with honor. I believe that no success will compensate for failure in the home...so I focus most of my effort on my wife first, then my family.
