Hi I'm Christian

I'm on my mission! I love music and food. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I grew up in Illinois until I was 10 years old, then my dad took a job in Utah and we moved across the country. I got really involved in music during junior high when I started playing percussion. Drum line, wind symphony, orchestra, jazz band . . . you name it, I loved to play. Music has helped shape who I am and has definitely strengthened my faith. Now I'm a college student and learning is what I do best, but I also make time to just have fun with good friends. And don't worry, I still love music. As mentioned, I like food. Really. I mean it. I also love to experiment and try new things. I want to be an adventurer in life, doing all sorts of stuff that you only see in National Geographic. But I also want to go to work in a suit and tie every day, so we'll see how that one works out.

Why I am a Mormon

The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints brings so much sense and completeness into my life--a completeness that I can't imagine living without. My life has a purpose and I know God loves me. I find solace and joy in Jesus Christ and I know that through Him my sins can be forgiven and I can live with God again. I follow the teachings and commandments of Jesus Christ because they make me happy and they help me help others, but ultimately I follow Christ because I have come to love Him. I grew up in the Church, but I'm a Mormon because I choose to be. It's taken me a long time to know what is right, and it took some serious prayer and searching, but now I have come to recognize and love the greatest gift that God has given us--the gift of His son, Jesus Christ.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by faithfully attending my church meetings every Sunday. I love reading the Book of Mormon, as well as other scriptures, and I try to study them on a daily basis. When I read the scriptures and pray to Heavenly Father daily, I learn and grow and I am filled with the light that Christ gives. I try to always live HIs commandments and I strive to be a better person every day. I live my faith by keeping HIs word and by trying to be the best example that I can be, letting the light of Christ radiate to others. I am now going to share my faith with the good people of Sweden as I am leaving to serve a proselytizing mission in Stockholm. This is how I live my faith.

Do you really believe there is a prophet like Moses alive today?

Christian
Yes, we really believe that there is a living prophet today. God has always called prophets throughout time because he loves His children and wants them to know what is right. Sometimes the world can become confusing, but through the guidance of a prophet of God, we can learn how to choose the right and be happy in our lives. The prophet has authority to receive revelation from God concerning how to lead the people of the church. God was able to lead His people out of Egypt through Moses; similarly, the prophet today leads us to better places and happier lives. Our current prophet's name is Thomas S. Monson and we can read and listen to his words on Lds.org. Show more Show less
