Hi I'm Josh

I love waterskiing, I make great homemade biscuits, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I love sports, watching and playing. I especially love BYU football and basketball. I love waterskiing with my family. On Sundays we like playing games and making treats. I am currently serving a mission for the church in the Missouri St Louis Mission. I love being a missionary. Before the mission, I attended Brigham Young University for a year, and I will return there after my mission. I have no idea what I will be studying. I was diagnosed with type 1 diabetes when I was 8 years old. I've learned a lot from diabetes, though I wouldn't say it defines me at all. It has helped me become who I am today, but it doesn't hold me back in any way.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born into the church, but I believe we each go through a conversion process regardless of our upbringing. As I grew up, it became apparent that I had to decide for myself whether I believed all that I had been taught was true. We spent a lot of time at church between Sunday meetings, youth activities, daily scripture study--personal and family--, prayer, etc. As a logical thinker, it seemed to me that I was wasting my time if this wasn't something that I believed with all of my heart. So I decided to test it out for myself. I took Moroni's challenge, read the Book of Mormon, and prayed sincerely to know if it was actually the word of God as translated by Joseph Smith. The answer didn't come all in one moment or right away, it came in quiet, sacred moments in which the Spirit would again and again "prick" my heart and I would know that this was indeed God's church. One of the biggest things that has strengthened my testimony has been sharing what I know. I find that when I have the courage to open my mouth and share what I know with others, I feel the Spirit testify to me that what I am saying is true. I cannot identify one moment in my life when I knew it was all true, but I can identify that as I sit here at this computer and relate to you what I know to be true, there is no doubt in my mind that all of these things are true. This is the Gospel of Jesus Christ, restored to the earth in these latter days. What a blessing to have this knowledge.

How I live my faith

I am currently serving a mission for the church. I spend all my time trying to invite others to come unto Christ. We do everything from providing service in the community to going door-to-door to spread the message of the gospel to all of God's children. This full-time service will last for two years, but the spirit of missionary work will live on in me for many years to come. There is no greater feeling than testifying of the truthfulness of the gospel and seeing it change people's lives who have been searching for truth.
