Hi I'm Julie

I'm a Mormon - 6th generation. A wife, a mother, a homemaker, and a Christain. Happy to have been raised in Salt Lake City, Utah.

About Me

Hi, I'm Julie. I currently live in Arizona, but was raised in Salt Lake City, Utah. I loved it there. The people are kind and friendly and intelligent. It was a great place to grow up. I'm married to a great guy from Canada. We met at Brigham Young University. I'm a mother of 4 really good children who are growing up way too fast. I like to bake. I always have some chocolate chip cookies on hand. Yes, they are in the freezer. Thanks to my Utah heritage, I also love fry sauce, eat 'funeral' potatoes and have several recipes for green jello! I Love to Quilt and craft. I love the friends I've made quilting and Utah quilt shops. ;o)

Why I am a Mormon

I have deep roots in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. Many of my ancestors knew the prophet Joseph and crossed the plains with the pioneers. It's a great way to live! I love the wholesome values that keep me feeling good and clean before the Lord. I love virtue and call everyone to a return to virtue! It's possible. I love raising my children with a respect and love for God and his laws. Obeying Gods laws keeps them safe and gives them a reason to do the "right thing" when faced with a choice. (Especially as teens) I appreciate knowing the TRUE principles of our existence. For instance, I am not being punished for Adam's transgression. (The same change that made Adam and Eve's bodies suseptible to death, made them able to have children - mortal, so we wouldn't be here if Adam had not partaken of the fruit.) I am responsible for my own soul. This life is a test of the choices I will make, but through Christ's atonement there is mercy. I can repent of my sins and return to our Heavenly Father when I pass from this life and be together with my family in heaven.

How I live my faith

My family and I have a strong faith and 'testimony' that Jesus Christ is the founder of this Church. He is at the head. He restored HIS true Church through a prophet, Joseph Smith around 1830. We know that our current prophet will never be allowed to lead us astray. That's a comforting, solid foundation to build on. I am currently the Cub Scout Webelos leader in our ward. I love working with the boys to help teach them to be good citizens and be well rounded, well behaved young men as they grow up. We have lots of fun. Yes, I have learned that 10 year old boys aren't so bad after all! We don't smoke or drink or do drugs or behave promiscuously. Never have. We like it that way.
