Hi I'm Wayne Champlin

I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a retired Air Force Master Sergeant who, when retired, went to the University of South Florida to establish a new carreer path. I am now a Systems Engineer for a firm that provides Flight Information Display Systems (The hardware and software that drives the Arrivals, Departures, Gates, etc. at airports.) I am an avid motorcyclist and ride a candy orange 2003 1800cc Honda Gold Wing. I also have a 40 foot RV toy hauler so I can take our bikes on extended trips and camp; my family and I do a lot of camping throughout the year.

Why I am a Mormon

I struggled with religion and, quite frankly, whether there even was a God. About 3 years ago I started attending church on occasion with my new wife and discovered that the teachings of the LDS church were consistent with my beliefs and understandings of God, should he exist. After careful examination and discovery that there was a higher power in my life, I asked to have the missionary discussions to learn more about the church. In those teachings I learned that there was a God and he now fills a big void in my life that I felt I was missing all these years.

How I live my faith

I go to church every Sunday I am in town and even attend church while I am away. I have had some wonderful experiences attending churches in places such as Laramie Wyoming and Maui! I was recently an assistant Boy Scout Master working with boys from 12-14 years old. I am currently the Secretary for one of our leadership groups.

How can I know Mormonism is true?

Wayne Champlin
For me, since I was doubtful there even was a God, I had to think long and hard about it. After talking with the missionaries, I could feel the spirit and realized there really is a God. After that discovery, I then prayed about it and the answer came to me that the Mormon Church was what I had been missing all these years. I found the teachings to be consistent with my beliefs all along. I can actually feel God's presence especially when I am in church and with other Mormons; this is nothing I ever felt before at any other church. Show more Show less
