Hi I'm Ashley

I am currently serving a mission for the Lord. I'm a HUGE sports fan. I'm a shopaholic. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

Ever since I was little I can remember going to athletic events with my dad. I found that I especially loved football. Not soccer, football. Rough and tough pads and helmets. By the time I was in High School I knew just about as much as the boys. I was on the dance team and we attended every game. All the girls on my team would know that when I was clapping something good had happened so they should cheer too. I would have loved to play but my body was more built for dancing. I started dancing when I was in first grade. It wasn't the usual shuffle, step and blow a kiss type of dance that you see little girls doing now a days, it was based on Mormon church standards. We learned about our bodies and what they could do. I remember before a performance my teacher telling us, "It's not your body that's dancing, it's your spirit dancing through your body." I had never really thought of my spirit and body being different things before that but as I dance, I know that it is coming from a much deeper place than the muscles in my body. I am currently serving the Lord on a mission. I am helping to bring others unto Christ because I know of the happiness, joy and peace that it brings to my heart. I hope that the people I will be serving will be able to feel of the truth I am teaching through the Holy Ghost and that they will listen with an open heart.

Why I am a Mormon

I know that this is the only true church of God on the earth today. The reason I know that is because I have prayed to Heavenly Father to know if it is true, and I have received a confermation from the Holy Spirit that it is. I have read The Book of Mormon and received a witness from the Spirit countless times of it's truth. I know that our imperfections can be made perfect through Christ. I know that as we keep the commandments, try our best, and use the Atonement, we will be able to feel the amazing love that Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ have for us. I know that Heavenly Father knows me. That he knows everything that is going on in my life, big or small. He cares about us so much and wants us to be happy. I feel of his love for me when I withstand temptation and serve others. I know that Christ lives. That he came to this earth and that he Atoned for my sins. That he died on the cross and rose on the thrid day. I know that he will come again to rule the earth. I love and owe him so much.

How I live my faith

Living my faith was very easy growing up. I was surrounded by other Mormons who believed the same thing I did. As I grew, it wasn't my mom or dad that made me go to church it was that I genuinely wanted to go. I knew that it was what Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ wanted me to do so I did it! In my family life, we never read the scriptures or prayed as a family. This is something that the church really stresses families do and it still breaks my heart that we aren't able to receive those blessings and family unity because of poor choices. I do feel that people are blessed with spiritual gifts given to us by our Heavenly Father. Keeping the commandments is something that comes very easily to me and I am very thankful that I have been blessed with that ability. I have been able to make good choices without being pressured by anyone. These choices have ultimitely led me to serve a mission for the church. I am beyond excited to share the truth that I know with Heavenly Father's children!
