Hi I'm Summer

I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a stay at home mom to two adventurous, active, sweet, sometimes grouchy, boys. My husband, my boys, and I live in Fort Worth, Texas. We are enjoying delicious BBQ and the southern hospitality of Texans. I graduated from Brigham Young University - Idaho in 2010 in Elementary Education and putting my degree to use raising our two boys who are 2 and 1. I love to go on bike rides, play tennis, read, and sit in my lounge chair and watch my kids play in our cul-de-sac. Even with its challenges, I have a pretty sweet life and I wouldn't change it for anything.

Why I am a Mormon

I have been a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints all of my life, and I wouldn't have it any other way. I know the happiness from my family life growing up, in my personal life, and in the family I have created with my husband has come from living a lifestyle consistent with the teachings of Jesus Christ through the Bible and the Book of Mormon. There is peace and happiness that fills my life from the knowledge I have about my Heavenly Father and His son Jesus Christ.

How I live my faith

I get to participate in the Primary program in our church. I get to teach the 5 and 6 year old's our beliefs in a simplified way. Even though I am their teacher, I end up learning more from them each week. I also get to be a Visiting Teacher to two ladies in our ward. Visiting Teaching is a great way to be able to practice charity and serving other people. It really helps me see others how our Heavenly Father sees them. I try to live what I believe in the way I interact with my neighbors and other people in my community. In Texas, religion gets brought up a lot in conversations. I try to share my beliefs and bear testimony of how living the gospel of Jesus Christ has blessed and brought so much happiness into my life.

What is being a Mormon like?

Being a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is the happiest way to live! I have been able to find true joy in my life through my knowledge about my Heavenly Father and His son, Jesus Christ. In this life we are supposed to have joy. Prayer, scripture study, attending church, and serving others has helped me find this joy and hold onto it. I have joy because I know I have a Heavenly Father who loves me, knows me by name, and is helping me through life. I know my Savior Jesus Christ performed the Atonement so I can be forgiven of my sins, make better choices, and ultimately return to live with my Heavenly Father. Living the teachings of Jesus Christ is not a restricting lifestyle but a happy lifestyle. I am able to choose for myself to make good decisions and live with the good consequences after or make poor decisions and live with the negative consequences that follow. When I do make the poor decisions I know I can repent and be forgiven through Jesus Christ, and try to make better decisions from there. Being a "Mormon" is a life of learning how to be happy.
