Hi I'm Megan

I'm a college student, a horrible cook, and a fiercely loyal friend. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

Currently I'm a college student in the (never ending) process of becoming a teacher to young children. I chose to major in Early Childhood Education because kids make me laugh every single day; and I say, if you have to work hard, you might as well laugh as much as you possibly can while doing it. I come from an exceptionally smart and talented family, which really lays the pressure on me as I'm the youngest. I have two older sisters and a tragic history of keeping pets alive. I love the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints with all my heart, and I feel sincerely blessed to be a part of it.

Why I am a Mormon

I was really lucky to have grown up a Mormon, but I didn't truly understand what it meant to be a member until a few years ago. I, like every other teenager, struggled a lot with feeling self worth and knowing exactly who I was. Although I've always believed it, I'd say I gained a real, solid testimony the very same moment that I discovered who my Savior really was to me personally. I may not have understood it fully then, (and there are still many things I have yet to understand now) but I know without a doubt that Jesus Christ is my savior and redeemer, as well as my very best friend. I know that He died for me personally as well as each of you. I know He lives and loves each of us as brothers and sisters, and I know He wants us to love each other the very same way. I have read the Book of Mormon (which is another testament of Jesus Christ) and know it's true because of the way it makes me feel when I read it. I know Joseph Smith saw what he said he saw, and that he was a real prophet of God. I know that President Thomas S. Monson is the prophet today (and a really top notch one at that), and I am so grateful for the power and truthfulness of this gospel. It has saved my life time and time again, as well as the lives of my family members. There are many things I don't know or understand, but I will never deny what I've felt in my heart and that is simply that The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is 100% true.

How I live my faith

My calling in the church is to be a Sunday School teacher, where we study doctrines from the scriptures together as a class. This year we're studying The New Testament, and next year we will be studying The Book of Mormon. I really enjoy teaching and leading discussions with my fellow members because it keeps me active and focused on studying the actual words of God. I really have gained a testimony of Visiting Teaching as it creates a sense of unity among the sisters of the church, and I have always been very grateful and blessed to have such excellent home teachers as well. Being away from home, it's nice to still have such a strong connection and direct access to the priesthood whenever I need it.
