Hi I'm Jon

I'm a Mormon.

About Me

My name is Jon. I recently graduated from college with a BFA in Graphic Design. I'm happily married to the girl of my dreams (I know cheesy right?) and we just had our first baby. We're so excited to be parents and are having so much fun with this little guy. Hobbies / Interests: Music: I love music in all it's ramifications. I enjoy pretty much any musical instrument I can get my hands on, but especially piano, guitar, and mandolin. Puzzles (the twisting kind): I'm on kind of the obsessed side of rubiks type puzzles. I have a huge collection of twisting puzzles from 2x2 to 7x7 rubiks cubes, to 12 sided dodecahedral puzzles. I have solved the regular 3x3 rubiks cube in 20.01 seconds. If you've got an old twisty puzzle in your closet that you've always wanted to know how to solve......I'm your guy. Computers: I'm a huge computer guy. Which is one of the reasons I love Graphic Design so much. Being a Graphic Designer, I'm of course an Apple computer nut. I'm always excited and into what's new and what's coming out next! :-) Design: Lastly, I live and breath design. I'm a firm believer in Design Thinking. Design changes and shapes our lives. I'm always trying to hone and sharpen my design skills and creativity.

Why I am a Mormon

Why I'm a Mormon: Oh how to begin.... I'm a Mormon for so many reasons, but most of all because of one simple reason. The Spirit of God has strongly testified to my heart on so many occasions that this is Christ's Church in the latter days. Just as countless others have done, I took it upon myself to gain my testimony by personal study and prayer. Whenever I share or teach or live any aspect of the Gospel of Jesus Christ, every part of me just burns with a firm knowledge that this isn't just a "good idea" or just a "good way to live," but that this is the absolute truth. This is the true Gospel of Jesus Christ and I know it to be 100% absolutely true. I know that Jesus Christ is the savior and redeemer of the world. He truly did suffer for our sins in the garden of Gethsemane and upon Golgotha. Under the direction of his father, he created this earth and many other worlds like it. He is the cornerstone of this His Church. I love him with all my heart. I know that Joseph Smith was a true prophet of God and that he was chosen to restore Christ's church in this dispensation. He truly did see and speak to God the Father and his son Jesus Christ. There are so many reasons out there that prove that Joseph Smith could not have written the Book of Mormon himself and that it had to have been translated by the gift and power of God. But these reasons are not why I believe the Book of Mormon to be true. I believe it to be true simply because of the overwhelming testifying power that the Spirit gives me when I read and study it. Christ truly did visit the ancient inhabitants of this the American continent. He loves us and wants us to return to him. He has provided a way for us to be sealed together as families for all eternity in his holy temples. I'm a Mormon because I know this Church to be true and because I want to return back to my Heavenly Father's presence with my family forever. This I testify with all my heart in the Name of Jesus Christ, Amen.

How I live my faith

I am, just like everyone else, a human being that makes mistakes. I don't always make correct choices and I've honestly struggled at times. I live my faith by staying as close to my Heavenly Father as my pathetic natural self will allow me to. Whenever I have made a wrong choice, I instantly feel the spirit withdraw itself and I feel distant from my Father in Heaven. I am so in debted to my Savior for his Atonement in suffering for my sins. I would be one lost man with out the possibility of repentance and forgiveness. I echo the words of the apostle James E. Faust when he said, "I wonder how many drops of blood were spilled for me..." Far too many.
