Hi I'm Ben

I'm a geology graduate student, husband, father of two beautiful girls, primary teacher and of course! I'm a Mormon all the way!

About Me

I am a geology graduate student at the University of Houston. I am a father of two beautiful girls and am privelaged to be married to the most wonderful wife in the world! I love hiking, swimming, running, soccer, uplifting talks, music and the trampoline. I also love to be of service to my fellowman, for it gives me a sense of joy and fulfillment when I know someone's day went better because of a simple deed.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon, because I KNOW by the power of the Holy Ghost that the Book of Mormon is the true word of God. That book is the central reason I believe what I believe in. It is not happenstance that it has come into the world, it is by divine direction. I testify that that book is the keystone of our religion and is verily true. Because I KNOW it's true, I know Joseph was indeed a true prophet of God. Because Joseph was a prophet of God, I know God and His Son Jesus Christ personally appeared to him in 1820 and directed him from on-high to restore the one and only true church upon the earth. I am so grateful to know that I belong to the one and only church that by divine right, bears the name of the Savior, holds His priesthood authority (and all it's attendant blessings and rights) and contains His complete and full truth. I am a Mormon because I know the key to true joy and happiness in this life comes by KNOWING and LIVING the fullness of the Gospel of Jesus Christ. I cannot express my joy...for I KNOW it is all true...and I thank My Father in Heaven for it.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by actively pursuing righteous goals, living the truth's the Savior taught, and by being obedient to the whisperings and counsel of the Holy Spirit. "Have I done any good in the world today, have I helped anyone in need, have I cheered up the sad, made someone feel glad, if not I have failed indeed". This Hymn is how I try to live my faith. Also "When you are in the service of your fellow beings, you are only in the service of your God". Such service can come in many ways and forms, but I know that the more we try to serve, the happier we become.
