Hi I'm Ty

I'm studying communications and graphic design at Utah State University. I love being creative. I'm a libertarian. & I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm obsessed with a few things: Austrian economics, libertarianism, art, food, and, of course, mormonism. I'm not a perfect mormon, but I definitely believe in the doctrines and try to live by its teachings.

Why I am a Mormon

This may be a surprise to some outside the church, but we mormons believe that our church is the pure gospel of Jesus Christ. I believe in the church because I believe it addresses and teaches the doctrines of Christ closer than any other Christian sect. Christ's suffering and death for us is the only way back to our father. The uniquely mormon belief of the Godhead, and man's potential to become like God is repeatedly preached within the Old and New Testament, and it makes complete sense to me. A loving father wants his children to have as good of life as he had. Why would a loving father in heaven (God) be any different? Clearly he exceeds us mortals, and his love for us, his children, is incomprehensible. This doctrine is a clear truth in my mind and heart.

How I live my faith

I teach sunday school once a month at church. I try to live as a disciple of Christ in my deeds and thoughts. I'm not perfect, but God doesn't expect me to be. Not in this life anyway.

Are Mormons Christians?

I believe in Christ. I believe he's the only way I can return to live with my Father in Heaven. Without his love, grace, and sacrifice for me, I would be forever damned as an imperfect soul. However, because he suffered and died for me salvation is possible. Whether or not some in society would accept of classify me as "Christian" is somewhat irrelevant to me. Indeed, the teachings of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints have significant differences than the teachings of mainstream Christianity. That said, I believe myself to be a disciple of Christ and a Christian. Others are free to label me as they wish. Show more Show less
