Hi I'm Joshua Black

I'm an average guy. I love my family and I love my Ducks. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I was born in Bend, Oregon where I became acquainted with skiing/snowboarding, tennis and a variety of other outdoor activities. I love tennis and snowboarding more than any other activity, but I really enjoy anything of a physical nature and especially when doing these sorts of activities with friends and family. I am currently serving a full time proselyting mission. I am serving in the New Mexico, Albuquerque mission and I love it. When I return, I will apply to college and hopefully be accepted at either BYU or BYU-Idaho.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because I know the organization of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints came through God, and that it is Christ's restored church on the earth today. I know that as a young man, Joseph Smith truly did enter into a grove of trees and inquired of the Lord, to know which of all the churches in his area were true, and I know that his answer from two personages above the brightness of the sun was that none of them were true and that through him, the true church of Christ would be restored. I know that by the power of God, the Book of Mormon was found and translated by Joseph Smith, and that the words therein are true, and that they testify of Christ just as the Bible does. They contain the fullness of the gospel of Christ. I am a Mormon because I know my Savior Jesus Christ lives, and that he truly did atone for my sins, pains, and weaknesses, and that because of his loving sacrifice for me, I can repent of my sins and obtain the glory that he has obtained. I am a Mormon because I love Christ and this is his true church, and I want to obey his commandments.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by accepting the call to serve and by lifting where I stand. I live my faith by sharing it with others and helping them to know and understand for themselves that the Restored Gospel of Jesus Christ is the most important thing that they could have in their lives. As mentioned before, I am currently serving a mission and that is how I live my faith at the present time. I know the Gospel has healed me and helped me throughout my life and that it can help others as well so that is what I share with others.
