Hi I'm Christopher

I'm a family man. I love the outdoors. I develop vaccines for neglected diseases. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I love spending time with my family and friends. My interests include hiking and camping in the national parks, reading good books, playing the piano, and I'm passionate about my job working for global health.

Why I am a Mormon

I first became converted after reading the Book of Mormon. It contains a power that leads one to Christ and a better life. I like the audacity, the cosmic reach of Mormonism. We embrace truth wherever it is found: scriptures, science, inspired thinkers. At the same time, it is not an abstract religion. Instead, it is practical every-day living with focus on strengthening families, assisting the needy, expanding our secular and spiritual knowledge, and enjoying life. We do not believe that God has stopped speaking; he is as accessible today as in ancient times. I consider the church to be a great friend. It does not solve all of my challenges, but it gives me the perspective and support to overcome them.

How I live my faith

I prioritize time to make sure my family comes first. I follow the church's teachings to avoid wasting time on distractions and harmful addictions. I spend several volunteer hours each week supporting outreach efforts in my local church unit. I read the scriptures and pray each day, if only for a few minutes. Most importantly, my goal is to be a good person, to help others each day even if it is in small and simple things. I'm extremely grateful for a very rewarding job that allows me to focus my time on developing products that may one day help the world's poorest to live longer and more healthy lives.
