Hi I'm Kathy

I am a student, a daughter and sister. I love all those around me and enjoy to make them laugh. I am Mormon.

About Me

I grew up in Chile and moved to the United States when I was 11 years old. I learned to embrace this country and its diversity. During these years I have developed many passions I truly enjoy to dance all types of music Latin, hip hop, samba and I try to learn as many cultures dances. I love watching movies with friends, eating, and karaoke we do it all the time. I love babies, love their pureness and wish to someday be a mother and a wife. I am also career oriented, currently a college student, who will someday have her own international business.

Why I am a Mormon

As many others I was born into the church. I participated all through my childhood in Chile and got baptized when I was 8 years old. At some point I knew I had to make my own decision whether I went because of my parents or because I knew these things to be true?. I began to read The Book of Mormon and took the challenge to ask if everything that I was taught was true. I am 23 years old now and I can remember vividly the feeling I received. I knew without a shadow of a doubt that everything was true. I didn't just "believe" like I used to say before in the church. I know that our savior Jesus Christ is the redeemer, that God our Heavenly Father loves us with all his heart that he gave his beloved son to atone for our sins. I know that The Book of Mormon is another testament of Jesus Christ. I know that thanks to Joseph Smith the Gospel was restored in this dispensation. I have decided to stay active in the church, because I love to know that I know the truth, that I know why I am here, where I am going, and I don't have doubts about my purpose in life. I know that life has its ups and downs, but at the end of the day as long as I am living a righteous life, God will be with me helping me through it all.

How I live my faith

I live my faith everyday with everything I do. I attend church every Sunday, institute and as single adults some of us live alone so we have our own Family Home Evenings in where we get together and have so many different activities so we can get to know one another. We do outdoors activities, karaoke, dinners, dancing. We also invite others that are not of our faith to just have fun with us. We participate in service projects not just for the people in our church but to everyone that needs it no matter what they believe in. I live my faith at my job, school, and where ever I go.

Do Mormons only help Mormons?

Kathy
We definitely help as much people as we can. Now I know that the church as a whole has been part of many humanitarian acts in different countries even in my own. However; as one member of the church I help those that are around me no matter what they believe. As humans we all have needs, and no matter what we believe we all at some point are in need of shelter, food, and water. As Mormons it is our responsibility to look after the hungry, the poor, and the afflicted. We know that if we take care those that have the least, it is the same as if we were at the service of our Lord Jesus Christ and our Heavenly Father. Show more Show less
