Hi I'm Melissa

I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a Mom to 2 little girls and a wife to a very busy husband. I keep myself busy taking care of my family and I consider myself one of the luckiest people on the planet- I get to stay at home with my kids and get AT LEAST one very good laugh a day from something they say or do. My idea of a perfect day is: good company, a cool breeze, beautiful scenery, delicious food, lots of laughter, and sleeping for a good uninterrupted 10 hours. Right now I think I would settle for one uninterrupted 15 minute nap!

Why I am a Mormon

I was born and raised in the church and it has always been the guiding influence in my life. My faith is extremely important to me. I can't imagine living without that faith. Knowing what I know gives me perspective and has helped me during the most challenging times in my life. During those difficult times I have been able to turn to my faith in Jesus Christ and my Heavenly Father and have felt comforted, supported and hopeful, knowing that everything will work out in the end. It is not just the difficult times in my life that I cling to my faith. My faith also enriches my every day life and every good thing I have in my life are gifts from God.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by serving in my local LDS church or ward. I have done many things over the years. I have conducted a choir, played the piano, worked with youth, and currently I am involved with serving the Women in my ward by planning monthly activities just for the women. I really enjoy getting to know women of all different ages and backgrounds.

What are some things that tell you there is a God?

The very existence of the earth is a miracle-it is difficult to conceive that the earth and ultimately us are all here by chance. Also the very idea that we as humans have existencial thoughts like "who am I and why am I here," is evidence to me that there is a God. Our spirits long to know the answers to these questions because we were spirits before we came to the earth. The love we have for our family and friends also is a testimony to me that there is a God. I cannot imagine that someone we love so much is just gone forever when they die. Each person is of infinite worth, I think we all feel that. The emotions and feelings that exist within a human soul are not just a matter of evolution. It is a matter of us being so much more than a body. Show more Show less
