Hi I'm Rocky Pierini

I’m a 28 year old military veteran that recently became a member of the church four months ago.

About Me

After completing High School, I enlisted in the United States Air Force as an Airborne Mission Systems Specialist. I was assigned to the 552nd Air Control Wing where I flew on the Airborne Warning and Control System (AWACS) as the technician and system admin. In the first year of my enlistment, I meet a very beautiful young woman from California while I was in Survival training. We were assigned to the same base after training and begun dating from there. After three years of dating, we were married in her home town in California in front of her whole family. Two years after our weeding, my wife gave birth to a beautiful baby girl and our lives have been blessed ever since. Military life was very difficult and hard on our young and fragile family so my wife and I decided to not reenlist and use our G.I. Bill for college. We both completed six honorable years of service and achieve the rank of Staff Sergeant. At the end of our enlistments, we packed a Penske moving truck with everything we owned and left Tinker AFB for a one way trip to Indiana. The transition has been difficult but my family is together every day and my wife and I are now in college studying for careers that will not require us to deploy around the world every year.

Why I am a Mormon

I am Mormon because I have found no other church that preaches and practices the gospel of Jesus Christ better than the Church of Jesus of Latter-Day Saints. This church is a world class faith based organization that is second to none when supporting outstanding community and family values. I have been a member of other churches and they only preach the commandments of our Lord with no help on how to live them. As a Mormon, I have witnessed and participated in a system that helps all members live the commandments of our Lord through scripture study, charity, health and fitness, chastity, family values, finances, community involvement, and personal responsibility. When you follow the straight and narrow path of Jesus Christ through his commandments, your life is filled with many blessings and you become an overall stronger and better person. If you are a person that is lost right now and need guidance to get through life’s challenges, then this is the home for you and we Mormons will welcome you with open arms.

How I live my faith

I live my faith through practicing the commandments of the gospel of Jesus Christ on a daily routine. I pray at the beginning and end of my day and during any other part of the day that I feel thankful to our Lord or need additional guidance. I participate in the church as often as I can with missionary work being my favorite, charity is a close second. I spend as much quality time with my family as time permits and making lasting memories that we can reflect on that bring us closer to together. My strongest article of faith I practice every day is reading ten pages a day out of the scriptures. I have always been told that life is not easy because it does not come with a set of instructions. I never could understand that because all the instructions I need to live my life to its fullest potential have been found in the scriptures. If you decide to begin reading ten pages a day everyday like me, make sure you have pen, notepad, and some scripture highlighters ready to go because you are going to learn a lot and it will make your life brighter and better.
