Hi I'm David

I grew up in Utah, I'm a husband, a father, and a student. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am married and have a beautiful wife and baby boy. I am working on my undergrad studying the Middle East and Arabic. I love music, I sing, and play instruments. I love sports. Pretty much every sport: soccer, Frisbee, basketball, racquetball, badminton, etc. You name it. I love history and political science. I really like chess and scrabble. I have worked in a lot of different places doing a lot of different things, most recently I have worked in sales.

Why I am a Mormon

My parents have been member virtually all their lives, and so my siblings and I grew up in the church. My parents are such good people and have wonderful happy lives, and so I knew they were doing something right, and they always put God and family first. I followed the church for that reason when I was young, but they always encouraged me to know for myself if this was the true Gospel of Jesus Christ, and with a strong desire to know I fervently studied and prayed and God told me it was indeed His Gospel. I served as a missionary for the church in Chile and continue now to study and learn more and strive to do what God wants me to do. There have been times when there has been a lot of opposition and there have been things that shake my faith in the church, but through sincere and humble prayer, God has continually told me it is His path. Truly I find as I try to lead a life centered on Jesus Christ, I am the happiest in life. Truly happy and content and at peace. Especially in this time of challenges for the families, and so many families being torn apart, I have full faith that if I continue as Christ has taught, and follow the words that he gives to his living Prophet and Apostles, we will be protected.

How I live my faith

I was assigned to teach the 11 year old kids at church for a few months. We studied the New Testament and it amazed me how much these kids knew! They understood the Parables that Jesus taught his Apostles, it was awesome. I have also been assigned, in every city I have lived in, to go and visit certain families each month and make sure any of their needs are taken care of. It has been great to get to know each other and think about serving them, instead of always being so focused on my life. When I was a missionary, I truly saw the Gospel change so many lives. It healed hearts and families, it turned bad people good and helped good people get better. It was amazing to preach the Gospel 24/7. There are so many good fruits that come from living the commandments, and I saw a lot in Chile.
