Hi I'm Dallin

I love sports, music, the outdoors, and Japanese. I like smiling and being happy. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I grew up in Utah and love the outdoors. My family often goes camping or on beautiful hikes through the mountains. I served a mission in Hokkaido, Japan and fell in love with that country, its people, its language, and its food. I'm currently a junior in college, majoring in Computer Science and minoring in Japanese. I love sports, especially snowboarding and football. I play the piano, drums, and saxophone, and love listening to music.

Why I am a Mormon

I was lucky enough to be born into a great family that loves me. Every week I went to church with my family, sometimes enjoying and other times thinking it was boring. My family read scriptures together every day and we always prayed as a family morning and night. Over time I learned of my Savior Jesus Christ and our loving Father in Heaven. I knew that they lived and loved me from the time I was very young. Around the time I was in Jr. High, I started wondering if the Book of Mormon was really a book from God, and what that would mean to me. I started reading it with a lot more interest and desire, and I started asking God to help me know if it was true. At that point, I felt pretty confident that the Book of Mormon was a book of God, but I wanted to know for sure. One day as I sat in class at school, I was thinking about the Book of Mormon. At that moment, I felt a certainty that the Book of Mormon was revealed by God and translated by Joseph Smith. It was an overwhelming confirmation from God that what I had believed was true. Though I had a very strong feeling at that time, it was merely a confirmation of the things I knew. I had been taught the truth and God let me know it.

How I live my faith

I try to be a friend to everyone that I meet. I may not be the most outgoing person, but I try to smile and say hi to everyone around me. Something as little as opening a door for someone walking behind me is a way that I try to follow Christ's example and help all those around me. I spent two years as a volunteer missionary for the church in Hokkaido, Japan. Every day I would talk with countless people that knew little to nothing about God and Jesus Christ. I loved telling them about the happiness that I have experienced in my life through learning about the Gospel of Jesus Christ and living it. My favorite experiences were when my newly-found friends, desiring to know whether or not God really exists, prayed for the first time in their lives. They prayed to God, not knowing whether or not He was really out there listening to them. And when they felt God's love as an answer to their prayers, I saw many of my friends change their lives for the better. The Gospel of Jesus Christ brings true happiness!
