Hi I'm Shelby

I'd rather be in the mountains than the beach. I love concerts. I laugh at everything. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

My name is Shelby and I just recently married my best friend in the Phoenix, AZ LDS temple. We love indoor rock climbing, hiking, and I've been trying my best to learn how to snowboard. I absolutely love my job at BYU-Idaho as a career and academic advisor, where I'm also pursuing a degree in Industrial/Organizational Psychology. It makes me so happy knowing I'm guiding students to resources that will help them with selecting a major and preparing for their future careers. Chicken wings and chocolate shakes make me pretty happy too, but what makes me happiest is being a Mormon and knowing I can be with my sweet husband for forever.

Why I am a Mormon

I have been able to have the Mormon church as part of my life since I was born, but that is not why I've stayed. I am a Mormon because the principles and doctrines that we are taught on Sundays and encouraged to live every day of our lives, have given me so much more joy than anything the world could ever offer me. Because of the church, I've always had a solid support system and group of people to turn to that have also encouraged me to turn towards Jesus Christ. I have come to know who He is through studying His life and by applying His Atonement in my life. There have been too many instances in my life where I have felt my Heavenly Father and Savior's awareness and love for me. How could I turn my back on that?

How I live my faith

I live my faith by being kind to others. When Christ was on this earth, He went about doing good and I try my best to follow that example. If I walk by someone that looks like they need a compliment or even just a smile, I just go for it even if we both feel awkward.
