Hi I'm Kyri

I'm from Arizona. I'm a big movie watcher, music listener. I work with children with autism and love it. I'm a Mormon

About Me

Well as odd as this might be I really enjoy watching The Ultimate Fighting Challenge. The athleticism is incredible and I admire their control and dedication. Many of the fighters have been training for years to be in control of themselves and their abilities during a fight. Another big passion of mine is listening to music. I dont really play an instrument but I want to learn how to play the guitar. My music taste is varied and I don't just listen to one type of music. I like anything from classical to hard rock to indie and alternative. Music calms me down when I am frustrated and pumps me up when I need a good revving. I am also an avid reader. I mostly enjoy classic literature. Some of my favorites are The Scarlett Pimpernel and Little Women. I can read those over and over again. I am trying to find more classics to read and just enjoy that time and their mindset. I believe that my love for books also bleeds into my enjoyment for movies. Although many times the book is better than the movie, a movie helps put a face to a hero or heroine. I enjoy learning new and unusual things. People joke that I am a pit of odd facts. I love going to school and learning and just expanding myself.

Why I am a Mormon

I was fortunate to be born into this gospel to parents who taught me right and wrong but also taught me independence to chose for myself. My parents came from two very different backgrounds where one was taught the gospel and the other had grown up hating it. But something that amazed me was that my parent who grew up with out love for the gospel had to learn and seek out knowledge and learned to love the gospel. This helped me to be taught that even being born into this gospel I had to gain a testimony on my own and utilize it. My parents never forced us to go to church things. We were taught what was right and wrong so that we could make the decision ourselves and grow in confidence of ourselves and what we knew to be right. As an adult I have continued to be a member because I have had the truth of this gospel made known to me on so many different occasions. I have never had a mind blowing experience but just many many small things on the way that I know I couldn't deny the truth. There are many times that I get frustrated with myself and my own sins but that when Heavenly Father doubly reaches out to me to let me know that He knows that I get hurt and that its hard. He wants me to know that I am not alone and that when all else fails me, especially myself, that He is there to love me and help me back. Those times have been the most precious to me. Another reason that I continue to be a member is because of the logic of this gospel. When we have questions concerning our salvation we are taught way to communicate with God to enlighten our minds. Also many of the commandments I have been taught I can see how living them in these latter days where sin is so rampant, are vital to surviving through out these hard times.

How I live my faith

For me personally one of the major ways I share my faith with those around me is by being friendly. I dont know peoples situations or issues but if they need someone to help them even if it just listening I want to be that one to help them know they are not alone in this world. I hope that in my friendship with people they can feel comfortable enough with me that they feel they can ask me questions about my religion and why its so different from any other religion. When friends who dont share my faith are confronted about Mormons in their own lives, I hope to be an example of a Mormon and how out lives are filled with joy. I also visit two ladies in my ward who I am assigned to watch over them. That program is vital to keeping each other aware of each others needs and wants. When the women that I am assigned to visit need help or care its my job to be there for them and help them along the way. I love this program because it fosters sisterhood and companionship.
