Hi I'm Mandy

I have down syndrome, I love spending time with my family watching dvds, singing songs, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am the second of 5 children in my family. I have 4 brothers, and I have down syndrome. I love to watch my dvds of Saved by the Bell, The Wiggles, Bewitched, Full House and Andy Griffth. I also like listening to music and I love to sing with my Karaoke player. Growing up with down syndrome has been difficult at times. Sometimes people tease and make fun of me. But I know that Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ love me and have watched over and protected me by giving me a wonderful home with parents and brothers who love and care about me. I have met many people in my life who have helped me at school, on the bus, in special olympics, in dance class, and at church. I know that when people are kind to me they are following the example of Jesus Christ.

Why I am a Mormon

As I have read the scriptures I have gained a testimony of Jesus Christ and what He did for us as our Savior. I am grateful that because of His antonement I can return to live with my Heavenly Father someday and that one day I will enjoy all of the blessing He has promised us. I am especially grateful that Christ sent the Holy Ghost to comfort me and help me to make right choices. Keeping the commandments helps me to feel better. It touches my heart and I feel happy and loved when I go to church. I know that the people there love and care about me. The gospel of Jesus Christ gives me a feeling of peace.

How I live my faith

I study and ponder the scriptures. I sing the church hymns. I serve at church by directing the music in our women's organization. I help people in need by serving in the community and try to comfort other people who are sad.
