Hi I'm Mariah

I'm a daughter, a sister, and a friend. and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm a senior in Highschool. I am also a member of the marching band. I am one of 5 children and love to spend time with my family. I enjoy reading and hanging out with friends. I love to have fun and act goofy for no reason. My plans for the future are to major in nursing and become a R.N.

Why I am a Mormon

Both of my parents are members of the Church so I grew up with the Gospel. When it came time for my baptism I had developed my own testimony of the Gospel and know it is true. I have read the Book of Mormon cover to cover and have felt in my heart that it is true. Everytime I read the scriptures or sing hymns or pray I can feel the Spirit and I am reminded that I know it is true.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by accepting the calling as Laurel's President in my ward. Laurel's are Young Women ages 16 to 18. I lead opening exercises and help other young women. I also live my faith by attending Seminary for the past 4 years. Seminary is a class that is before school and is offered to High schoolers. Each year or High school you study a book. Either the Old Testament, New Testament, Book or Mormon, or Doctrine and Covenants. Even though waking up at 5 in the morning each day before school is hard, I do it because it strengthens my faith and Testimony in our Heavenly Father and I also learn a lot at Seminary.

What is a “testimony” that Mormons speak of?

A testimony is a witness that is given to you by the Spirit that what you have been taught is true. Testimonies are the foundation of any church member. Testimonies start off small and continue to grow throughout your life in the Church. Show more Show less
