Hi I'm Mette

I am a college student and wife. I love to take pictures and dance. I am a mormon.

About Me

My name is Mette. I am a mormon. I am 22 and am currently attending college and am close to graduating with my bachelors degree. I am married and love my husband very much. I enjoy taking pictures, dancing, snowboarding, eating and going to school. I am a new blogger and enjoy learning from other people. I enjoy learning new things and am always on some whim or another. I met my husband at college and have been married for almost a year and a half. I grew up in Southern California in a large family of 9. My siblings are my best friends and I am grateful to know I will be with them forever. I love to travel and am always saving and planning for that next trip. I have traveled around parts of the United States and Europe and hope to continue my travels throughout my life.

Why I am a Mormon

I started off as a mormon because of my parents. I was born into this church and was raised by its teachings and standards. I am currently a mormon because of me. I love this gospel and the truths that it teaches me. I learn how to be a better christian person by loving and serving others. In high school I had to decide what I wanted in church. Of course my parents urged me to continue going to church, but it was ultimately my decision to stay an active member. I am so grateful that I was raised in this gospel. It has blessed my lives in so many ways. With the deaths of family members and the marriage to my spouse. I know that I can be together with them all in the eternities. It has given me guidance in direction when I feel lost. God has answered my prayers even when they are small and meek. I am been blessed with a good healthy body, good education, a family that loves me, and most importantly, the knowledge that I have that my Heavenly Father loves me, knows me and does not forget me. We all have hard times when our faith is questioned, but I have always known that if I turn my back on the Lord, my life will get much harder then if I had him on my side. He is not flawed, I am, and he loves me anyway and knows the potential that I have. It had been a great strength to me to know that I matter, if to no one else, then at least to Him.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by weekly church attendance. I have been asked to many different assignments in the church, from organizing church activities, to teaching sunday school lesson, to visiting with the sisters in our congregation to give them love and encouragement. My husband and I serve in our temples at least a few times a month. The biggest way I live my faith though is through the small decisions that I make every day. From being honest about the wrong change returned to me, to helping a neighbor move. We show and live our faith by our daily examples to those around us. Seeing others as God sees them and looking for opportunities of unselfishness and service.

How can we stop the spread and influence of pornography?

I believe that we have much influence in our homes and community. Through our children and friends we can share our views and desires for the world around us. We must teach our children and pornography is inappropriate. We are human beings and as such we are attracted to other people. We have sexual desires in us for sacred and good reasons, to create families and share love between spouses. The world has turned those natural feelings into carnal desires that make us lose our control and sometimes destroy the relationships around us. We must teach our children that those feelings are natural but only under the right conditions; to create families and to bind husbands and wives together. If we teach our children this and we protect our families the best we can from such evil, we can help hinder the spread of pornography. Show more Show less
