Hi I'm Collene

I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm the grandmother of 7, who loves to read, do Sudoku, swim and lots more. One of my favorite things to do is check out Facebook for updates on my grandchildren - the photos they post are wonderful, they are a source of delight for me. Genealogy and Family History work are dear to my heart, this past year I have enjoyed meeting several cousins through research, cousins I didn't know I had. My life has been full of wonderful people and experiences. Life is Good!

Why I am a Mormon

When I was 37 years old my family moved to a new community where we attended one of the neighborhood churches - our daughter had been going to Primary at the Mormon church with a school friend, but I had no interest other than that she was enjoying herself. Eventually my husband was given several invitations to attend an Open House at the church so we decided to go. From that Open House we were visited by the Elders, and began to take the lessons. As our discussions and study went on, I began to find answers to questions of mine that made such perfect sense, things my church never explained, the nature of the God Head being the most important. Learning that my family could be together forever and that I could give that blessing to my grandparents and other family members made me feel that I had to have the blessings of the Church of Latter-day Saints for myself and my family. Since my baptism I have had the privilege of doing or having done by others the sacred ordinances that bind my family together. Through this work I have learned about the lives of my ancestors, of their courage and strengths and love them for making my life possible. I have been blessed in so many ways and best of all I have watched my children grow in the gospel and raise wonderful families of their own with a strong faith in Heavenly Father and in his son Jesus Christ.

How I live my faith

Being a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is a way of life, everything I do is because of my faith, it is who I am. I am a Mormon.
