Hi I'm wesleycat

I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a child of God. I am a mother of 9, grandmother of 22, and great grand mother of 12. Teacher of many children in Primary over the years and many classes in Sunday School. After the children were grown my husband and I served a Mission in New York, New York. This was a very exciting time and we loved serving in the Manhatten deaf branch. We helped with the Temple trip to the Washington, DC Temple with deaf branches from Manhatten and Queens NY, and Hartford, CT. It was a highlight point of our mission. I am deaf now and get around with a power wheel chair so I don't do much cooking or cleaning anymore. Now I paint in oils and water colors and finger paints and do other crafts. I still teach and give talks and work on family history and Branch history and go to the Temple once a week. I am happy most of the time. I will not let pain keep me down.

Why I am a Mormon

When I was a young mother the missionaries came to visit me and talked about the Church and then asked me to pray about it. I was not sure I wanted to do that but I gave my work that I would so after staying up most of the night I finally did go and ask God if it was true that I was his child and that the things the missionaries was saying was true. Not really expecting any thing I was amazed when I felt a great flash of warmp and a sure feeling that God was the father of my Spirit and yes the gospel as taught in the church was real and true. The strong feelings knocked me backed onto the rug and I just lathere feeling very loved and good and happy for a while. The I went to bed. After that time I stopped smoking and drinking cokes. This was so hard that every 15 minunts I would run into my bedroom and through myself on the bed and cry and pray for help. Then I would be fine for a while and run back into the bedroom and cry some more. My husband was in the Navy and out to sea at the time but I still see the worry in my kids eyes as I would run past them. After a few days I explained what was happening and they were excited and would pray for me when I lost it again. It got better and I have never smoked since then. I know the gospil is true and I was not going to let it get away from me. I love the Lord Jesus Christ and will always follow him. I am looking forward to the time when I can be with him again.

How I live my faith

I live my life by the Holy Spirit. We have morning prayers and read the Scripturs. We go to the Temple often and to Church every week. We both teach and give talks and prayer as asigned. The gospel is not just a one day a week kind of thing it is a all the time reality with us. I make up songs from time to time and one was about my faith in Jesus. Through the rushing river, over the burning sand, Into the deepest ocion if he will hold my hand. High on the moutian top, down in the vally deep, with Jesus as your savior nothing is too steep. I will follow him where ever he goes, I know he will lead me true and when we reach our home again we will live with (Heaventy Father) you.
