Hi I'm Becky Talbot

I'm a Mormon. I'm a stay-at-home, homeschooling mom that loves learning, exploring, gardening, and playing with my kids.

About Me

I'm a wife and a mother. I get to stay home each day and homeschool my kids! I love a good book and enjoy reading to my children.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born to parents that belonged to The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. When I was eight years old I was also baptized and became a member of the church. Each day I have felt the influence of the Holy Ghost in my life and directing my path. When I read the Bible and The Book of Mormon my testimony is renewed and strengthened as I learn of my Heavenly Father's love for me. I love belonging the The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. I am able to study the life of my savior Jesus Christ each week in church and each day in my personal scripture study. I am then able to choose to follow what I know to be true to live my life as Jesus Christ would have me live it.

How I live my faith

I love trying to serve others just as Jesus Christ did. It makes me feel great! I know I feel this way because I am serving God's children. How blessed I am that I am able to serve and help my Heavenly Father by serving his precious children young and old! I try to take my kids with me when I am visiting the women in our church to share a message. I take them with me as I help in any way I can. When I do this I know they will see how important it is to try to live as Jesus Christ did. They also are able to see how happy it makes them and the people we are serving! I am able to help in my church by being a teacher each Sunday for the 5 year olds. We have so much fun learning stories of Jesus and each child telling stories of how they try to be like Jesus. I also get to teach the women 18 and over once a month. It is so inspiring to get together with other women and be uplifted and inspired as we study together.

Why do Mormon missionaries proselyte?

Becky Talbot
Our church has a great missionary effort. It’s really quite funny when you think about it. The Church of Jesus Christ of Latterday Saints sends out 18 year old young men and 19 year old young women to spread the ‘Good News’. We also have senior missionaries that choose to serve missions when they retire. Right when most young people are starting college and deciding what to do with their lives our Heavenly Father has asked these young adults to leave behind the world and build up the Kingdom of God on the earth. They pay for their own missions, sacrifice two years of their lives and devote themselves entirely to service and spreading the gospel. I can think of no better way to start out your adult life then in the full time service of the Lord. These young adults and seniors are serving missions to spread the 'Good News' of Jesus Christ. I also believe that missionary service is never over. Throughout our lives we need to be spreading the ‘Good News’ to those around us by word and deed. I am eternally in debt to my Savior to do as he has asked to spread his glorious word and feed his sheep. Show more Show less
