Hi I'm Leora

I grew up in Pima, Arizona. I'm very blessed to be a stay home wife and mother. I love being a Mormon.

About Me

I'm a mother of three. I love serving in the church. My hobbies are scrapbooking and tole painting. I play tennis in what spare time I get. I never got a chance to finish getting my college degree, but plan on going back and getting it as soon as my children are raised.

Why I am a Mormon

My great grandparents were the first ones to join The Church of Jesus Christ of Later-day Saints. I was born and raised in the church. I knew the church was true from a very young age. I was baptized when I was eight years old. When I was confirmed a member and recieved the Holy Ghost, I was filled with a sweet burning feeling of knowing that my Heavenly Father loves me, and knew who I was, and it gave a desire to live worthy of His blessings. At the age of 16, I had read the Book of Mormon all the way through. I did exactly what Moroni directs, to pray with real intent and ask in the name of Jesus Christ if what I had read was true and had really happened. I then once again was given the sweet burning of reasurance that what I had read was real and true. Just like Joseph Smith I knew that the Holy Ghost had witnessed to me that the Book of Mormon was true, that Joseph Smith was a prophet of God and I knew I can never deny it.

How I live my faith

My calling in the The Church of Jesus Christ of Later-day Saints is to work with the young women, ages 12 to 18 years old, as a Young Women President. I have been blessed with the great opportunity to teach and strengthen the young women's faith and help them build their trust in our Savior Jesus Christ. I teach them anything from how to rely on the spirit to how to make bread. I am also a visiting teacher. I visit with other women and we talk about our faith, build friendships and help serve and lift each other. These give me the opportunity to love and grow. It blesses my life by helping me remember how loved and blessed I truly am.

What are some things that tell you there is a God?

Leora
I know there is a loving Heavenly Father. He shows me every day by the answering of my prayers. He showed me his love by sending is Son, Jesus Christ to atone for the sins of every person that has ever walked the earth. The beauty in the desert of Arizona with it's diverse plants, insects, and animals. The joy of knowing that every plant has a purpose for man on earth, is living proof He lives. By giving us the power to procreate and to trust us to raise His children, He lives. If it wasn't for Him, we wouldn't be us. Show more Show less

How can we increase our faith in Jesus Christ?

Leora
Our faith can increase by doing the little things. Like attending church each Sunday. Reading our scriptures every day whether it is 3 chapters or 5 verses. Praying daily, that builds our relationship with our Father in Heaven and keeps His spirit to be with us. Repenting for our short comings and remembering the Atonement of our Savior Jesus Christ. Doing acts of service and showing others that Gods love for them and is aware of thier needs. Show more Show less
