Hi I'm Lori

I am a wife and mother of 5 kids. I teach preschool and dance. I love to play tennis and travel. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

My husband and I will celebrate our 20th anniversary this year. We have five awesome kids. A couple days a week I teach preschool and dance to 3 and 4 year old little girls. I love it!! I love to travel and just returned from a trip to New York City. It was my first time visiting the Big Apple. It is very different from the small town I live in..but I loved it!!!! What a beautiful, fasinating.....LOUD....busy city. Can't wait to visit again some day. Maybe for the U.S Open because I am a tennis fan. I love to play and watch. Our family loves the great outdoors so hiking and camping is alway part of our summer plans. I enjoy trying new things and learning about anything and everything.

Why I am a Mormon

I woke up one day after Highschool graduation and decided I didn't like the way my life was going. Something was missing and I didn't want to continue down the path I was headed. I grew up in a very disfunctional home and come from a long line of alcoholics. I knew by example what I didn't want. I decided I was going to go to church...I had been baptized a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints when I was 12 years old. After my baptism my family attended church for 2 weeks and then stopped. I always remembered the way I felt at 12 years old when the Missionaries taught me about the gospel. I remembered feeling so peaceful and happy at that time. I wanted that feeling again. I called up a friend who was going to a college ward and asked if I could go to church with her the next Sunday. The moment I walked into the church all those same feelings came back. I had some changes to make and work to do...but knew instantly that this was what was missing from my life. I know my Heavenly Father loves me. He knows me personally. He knows my strengths and weaknesses and my potential. I know I can do all things with the help of the Savior. Following the teachings of the church gives me peace and so much joy. This is Christ's church. He came to this Earth and was the perfect example of how we should be striving to live our lives. He showed love and compassion to all and suffered and died for us all so we can return to live with our Heavenly Father and our loved ones someday. This world we live in can be very scary and full of challenges at times. The church gives me the strength and guidance I need to not only get through this mortal life but to do it with joy and happiness. Heavenly Father wants all of His children to be happy and enjoy life. It is frightening to think where I might be right now if I hadn't decided to go to church. I love the gospel of Jesus Christ and being a Mormon!!

How I live my faith

When I first started going to church...I have to admit that I was scared to do anything. Praying or teaching a lesson or speaking in church really frightened me. As I attended my church meetings, studied the Book of Mormon and Bible...my faith increased. As my faith increased the fear disappeared. I have taught the young children, the youth and the adults. I have helped organize and lead our summer camp for the teenage girls in the church and am now working with the adult women in the church. We have our regular Sunday lessons that I get to teach once in a while and also plan activities each month for the ladies. Sometimes it is working at the food bank or the Habitat for Humanity. Other times it is a sewing class or other project. We have classes on organizing our homes, taking better care of our bodies, raising our children or strengthening our marriages. In most cases food is involved!!! :) We look out for one another. Help one another in times of need and support one another as we all strive to endure and enjoy this life.
