Hi I'm Katie

I grew up in Georgia in the Bible Belt. I'm a photographer, a composer, a writer. I'm a wife and mom, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm the mom of two beautiful daughters. Like a lot of people, we have a blended family. Our common goal is the happiness of our children and my previous husband and current husband are both amazing fathers to my kids and we spend a lot of time all together as a family. We are truly blessed with so much love and support. I'm also a photographer, an aspiring author, and I compose music on the piano. I also sing. I have lots of goals and things I want to accomplish, but most of all, I just want to be happy.

Why I am a Mormon

I was raised in the Mormon church, but that's not why I'm a Mormon. Over the course of my life, I have seen a lot of challenge, hardship, and heartbreak. I've had a lot of difficulties to overcome from my childhood. Looking back, I'm so grateful that I had the Church as I was growing up - the teachings of the gospel were the one place I could go for comfort. When I was younger, I had this idea that as life went on, it would get easier - but it doesn't. Because of this, I have reaffirmed time and again how much peace and happiness the gospel of Jesus Christ can bring into our lives. We are taught that following the teachings of this gospel will make us happier, and they do.

How I live my faith

Within the church, I assist as the secretary in our women's organization. This summer I taught the children music at our summer bible school. I feel that the biggest way I live my faith is by the way I treat other people. It's very important to me that I set an example of what I believe.
