Hi I'm Emily

I grew up on the Warm Springs Indian Reservation. I served in the US Army and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I write short stories and poems. I love watching family shows on TV. I am one of the few women in the Army, not a Nurse, who served in Vietnam. I have a degree in Accounting and I do taxes. I love to take drives in the country and take pictures of where I go. I love studying the scriptures and doing Family History work. I love our "Lost Pines" that were recently reduced by the fire. I love our little town we have a high degree of hope and dedication to rebuild and make our town better than it was. We just had some rain after over 6 months of no rain and triple digit heat so we have new hopes for living here.

Why I am a Mormon

I have found that life has more fullness since I became a member. I joined the Church in VietNam. It was a wonderful part of my tour. I have many friends that have high standards and continually live up to them they challenge me to live my life to that same high standard. The importance of family and the eternal nature of family are very important to me and it is important to the Church. I know that Jesus is the Christ. I also know that Joseph Smith was and is the 1st Prophet in this the dispensation of the fullness of time. The Book of Mormon is true and speaks to and of Jesus as our savior. These truth fits my life and leads me to reach out to my fellow men in mercy and justice. Being a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints makes life worth living.

How I live my faith

I am active in my community. I worked at a public school and therefore, was involved in the school system. I visit other members of my church every month and make sure they are not wanting in anything I can help with. I attend little league and soccer games of the youth in the church. I am very interested in the study of history for my area and help with different fairs and get togethers for the public. I take great pleasure in teaching young folks about Indians.
