Hi I'm Josh McPeak

I'm a father of 5 and a husband to a member of the Church. I converted 2 weeks after marriage and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I was born and raised in beautiful Upstate NY just a few miles down RT 31 from the Hill Cumorah in Palmyra, NY. However, I didn't know anything about the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints until I was stationed at Travis AFB in California and met my future wife and her LDS family who was more than willing to familiarize me with The Church through two amazing sister missionaries. I have since been sealed to my wife and 5 children in the Salt Lake City Temple for all of time and eternity- the single greatest (and most important) day of my life.

Why I am a Mormon

When I entered an LDS church house for the first time in Albuquerque, I knew I was finally home. The membership welcomed me as if they were awaiting me for years. I had attended many different Christian parishes while in the Air Force but never felt "At Home". I grew up in a Catholic area of Upstate NY and attended church somewhat regularly growing up and had a fascination with the scriptures. The fact that Heavenly Father left us a road-map to get back to Him captured my mind and my soul, however, I never felt as if I was getting the Whole Truth. Nor did I feel that those advising me were giving me definitive answers to questions that I needed to know the answers to. That all changed the day I entered the LDS Chapel with my future wife. I followed the advise given in Moroni 10:4 when I received my first Book of Mormon and came to the knowledge that the Book of Mormon was True. Then I wore out an entire set of highlighters!

How I live my faith

While I've not been the model Church member with my inconsistent Church attendance since my baptism, I know that when I do activate myself into the meetings and into activities, I feel the presence of the Holy Spirit comforting and advising me in my day to day life. I have recently re-committed to becoming fully activated and attending my meetings. I would like to be a good role model to my 5 beautiful children and the best way of doing that is through faithful church attendance, scripture reading, and regular prayer in the home.
