Hi I'm Shannon

I was born and raised in Colorado. I love to read, write, and rock climb. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I have a passion for reading and writing, and an imagination that would make any kindergarden teacher jealous. Sometimes it's hard, but every school morning I drag myself out of bed at 5:30 AM to prepare for my early morning seminary class, which starts at 6:30. After seminary, I have a normal highschool day, with friends and classes like English, Geometry, Health, and ASL level 3. My goal is to become an ASL interpreter, because there is a great need for interpreters for the deaf and hard of hearing. In my free time, I like to pull out a book and read for a spell, or pack my brother into the car and go to an indoor climbing wall. Climbing is a great way to burn energy, and also to talk to friends I normaly can't because of life getting in the way.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born into the church, and grew up listening to childrens church songs and learning the stories of the Bible and the Book of Mormon. Everything from Noah to Nephi to Jesus was a integral part of my childhood. Every Monday we had Family Home Evening, and every night was family scripture study and prayer. The first thing I was taught (after feeding myself) was how to get down on my knees and tell my Heavenly Father about my life. As I got older these things became habit, and now they are an important part of my life I'd never give up.

How I live my faith

Every morning I go to an early morning scripture study class, to learn the things God need me to know. Every Sunday I go to Church to listen to the things others have prepared for me to hear. When I am azsked to help with things (example Girls Camp, young womans volleyball, organizing activities, etc.) I step up to the plate and work to give my all, so others can have as great of an experience as I do.
