Hi I'm Eric Jensen

I was born in a small town in Eastern Washington State. I'm a refinery worker and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I was born and raised as a Latter Day Saint in a small town in Eastern Washington. My family loved to camp on the weekends when I was a boy and my father taught my brothers and I to hunt and fish together. I am a sports enthusiast and enjoy a round of golf now and then. As a young man my mother made sure that I learned to cook and it has remained a favorite hobby of mine. I am a father to four young adults, three young women and one young man, all of whom make me extremely proud. My wife, who is my best friend, and I have been married for twenty six wonderful years.

Why I am a Mormon

I became a Mormon because my parents taught me the gospel as a child. I was baptized when I was eight years old and confirmed a member of the church because I felt that it was what my Heavenly Father wanted me to do. I continued to learn and grow in the gospel as I attended my church meetings and seminary as a young man. I recognized that as I did the things that were in accordance with the commandments I was happy and that sadness accompanied disobedience. I decided to serve a mission at the age of nineteen. I also decided that it would require that I gain a firm testimony of the gospel I would be preaching to others. I had read most of the Book of Mormon but not all of it, I would need to do that. I believed that the church taught good principles, but I also knew that I needed to know why other people needed this church, and not just any church. I read the Book of Mormon and Jesus the Christ, and I prayed about all I had been taught. I received an answer to my prayers that this gospel is that of Jesus Christ. I spent two years on a mission in Peru and had many opportunities to witness and share my testimony with others. I know that the Book of Mormon is not just a book of stories, but truly the word of God. I know that the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints is not just a good place to learn about the Savior Jesus Christ and his teachings, but truly his restored church on the earth today.

How I live my faith

I have spent many years in the service of the youth both within our church and within my community. I have spent time as a Youth leader, a Scout leader and coached various sporting teams within our community. I have a deep respect for the youth of our church and those from our community. Serving with the youth has helped to keep me feeling young, and they have helped to teach me as I try to teach them.
