Hi I'm Robert S. (Bob) Connell

I'm a Mormon. I was born in Hollywood, Calif. but raised mostly in Oregon by my Grandparents. (virginia Lowery Young Worley.

About Me

I was a hyperkinetic child always doing something. My pre-school and kinder garden years were at home with my Grandmother as my teacher. My Mother and Grandfather both owned cabins in the Eagle Mountain Range in Oregon. We spent many summers camping at Grandpa's cabin where they filmed the movie "Paint Your Wagon". We Swam, fished, hiked, hunted and rode horses. In the winter months I did well as a snow skiier by the age of 9 I was an accomplished mogul guru. I joined the Army National Guard while in my junior year of high school and went into active duty right out of school. Attended Ricks College (BYU Idaho) one year before serving a two year Mission in Florida for the Church. Completing my mission I enrolled in Brigham Young University (BYU) and on my first day met Suzie Speed. We were married one year later and now have eight children 4 and 4.. Most of them live west of the Mississippi and have given us 14 grandchildren. I love and support my sweet wife and my family. we are all Mormoms.

Why I am a Mormon

I was raised by grandparents who were members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints that had a very good infulence on me to learn, attend, and be active in Church. I was fortunate and blessed to attend primary, scouts, young men's organization, I was ordained into the Aaronic priesthood at age 12, and then an Elder in the Melkezidic Priesthood at 19 when I left for my mission. I truly enjoyed the work with those people I served. I returned and got married in the Salt Lake Temple and then 4 years later I Graduated from BYU. All of my children have been baptised and 4 have Temple marriages so far. I have been on the High Council and loved working with the young men for some time as the young Mens President and also Asst. Scout Master really a very rewarding calling. I have always been a home teacher and have been an ordenence worker in the Temple. I'm retired and enjoying living in Georgia.

How I live my faith

I serve in the Sunday School Presidency, I was a Primary teacher for the 10 and 11 year old kids. I served on the High Council for 5 years and attend the Temple on a regular schedule. I have served the Must Ministry and have been involved in lots of community cleanup service. I am responsible for 4 families as a home teacher to visit monthly and help them with anything they need help with. through the years in the church i have served in many capacities and have learned that being in the service of my friends in and out of the church is being of service to my God. I am looking forward to serving another mission as a senior couple. I enjoy riding my motorcycle and being Papa Bob to my Grandkids. My eight children are the joy of my life and the trips we take to visit them is always the highlite of the year. Suzie and I love our Ward and all our good friends there.
