Hi I'm Sarah

I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I graduated with my Bachelors degree in journalism, and had the chance to work for several local newspapers, covering public safety, politics, business and beyond. But even though I thoroughly enjoyed my experiences in the media, I quickly realized that I missed my part time job working in an elementary school. I'm currently working as a Special Education teacher while I finish my Masters degree in Education. I have been thrilled to get to spend so much time with these amazing kids and I look forward to the day when I have children of my own. I love to read and I love to cook, but my favorite thing to do is spend time with my family. My husband and I can frequently be found curling up for a movie with some culinary experiment we made using our college-budget-limited pantry.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born and raised in the LDS church, and I have known from an early age how important the gospel is to me personally. My parents taught me and my siblings how to study and ask Heavenly Father anytime we were uncertain or seeking guidance in our lives. I know the church is true and I can't deny Heavenly Father's presence in my life. I know that He has a plan for all of us and that through His son, Jesus Christ, we are able to return to live with Him in heaven once again. Christ is my Savior and Redeemer and I know that He understands perfectly all the pain or sorrow I could ever feel. I know that nothing in this life happens by accident and no matter what we face, if we work with the Savior and have faith in our Heavenly Father's divine plan, we can learn great lessons and overcome any obstacle.

How I live my faith

Each week, we attend church in our local ward in Tempe. I have the opportunity to teach the adult Sunday school class and I have learned so much from studying the scriptures in preparation for class. My testimony of the sacred scriptures has grown tremendously over my years in this calling and my love for teaching has grown right along with it.
