Hi I'm Mindy

I grew up in eastern Utah where I roast in the summer and freeze in the winter and where the dinosaurs roamed. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am the mother of five children ages 14-5. I enjoy reading; mostly historical fiction. I grew up in the church but at the age of 13 my parents divorced and I was inactive for many years. We had our first child when I was 19 and knew that I needed to get my life on track so I could teach my children the Gospel of Jesus Christ. My husband and I were married for 5 years and had our 3 child when we were able to go to the Temple and receive our endowments and be sealed as a family for time and all eternity. This has been a blessing every day of my life and am thankful for the priviledge and blessing it is to be able to go to the House of Lord regularly and do His work. I have learned for myself time and time again that this is Christs Church restored to the earth in this day, and am eternally grateful for this knowledge.

Why I am a Mormon

I have always felt that this is the true Church but had to come to know for myself. I didn't actually read the Book of Mormon completely through until I was about 25 and that was the change for me. I understood like never before and my testimony was built and strengthened. I love that in the Lords Church we each have an opportunity to teach and to be taught. I continue living the Gospel because of the witness of the Spirit that has testified to me of the truthfulness of the Gospel. It brings me peace and hope in a crazy world.

How I live my faith

I stay active in the Gospel by staying active in church. Partaking of the Sacrament each week is fundamental to fostering and strengthening my faith in Jesus Christ. Because the Sacrament is symbolic of the sacrifice of Jesus Christ, each time I partake I am renewing my covenants I made at baptism and being cleansed through the Atonement. Reading and studying the scriptures are also a vital part of living the Gospel of Jesus Christ. Prayer is our life line to our Heavenly Father. I feel like every time I do these things my heart is turned more to my Heavenly Father, His Son, Jesus Christ and to my fellow men.

Why don’t women hold the priesthood in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints? How do Mormon women lead in the Church?

Being a women in the church I feel anything but oppressed by not holding the Priesthood. I feel that God has given me an importand role in His plan: Motherhood. I never question why women don't hold the Priesthood because I am a beneficiary of it every day. I have been a counselor in our ward Relief Society and under the direction of our Bishop have had the opportunity to serve the sisters in our ward. Being a women does not make me inferior because I understand the place I hold in my Heavenly Fathers heart. Show more Show less
