Hi I'm Ashley Sullenger

A Wife, Mom to 4 kids, Blogger, Elementary Education Graduate, and a Mormon.

About Me

I'm a 26 year old stay at home mom to a toddler and twin baby boys, with a daughter watching over us from heaven. I'm married to a guy I think is pretty great and hilarious, and is finishing up school. Before I had twins who now take up every minute of my day, I spent my free time running, swimming, biking, kick boxing, anything I could find to stay active. One day I'll get back to those things, but in the mean time, I'm happy with staying home and trying to find time to blog.

Why I am a Mormon

I've been a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints all my life. But it wasn't until last year when my husband and I lost our 18 month old daughter in a drowning accident I truly understood how important the gospel is in my life. It is what has gotten me through each and every day after losing our sweet Preslee. It has brought me closer to Jesus Christ and a loving Heavenly Father. I have a wonderful knowledge that families can be together forever. The Book of Mormon has become a staple in our home as we grasp for the teachings found within it. I feel so blessed to have a modern day Prophet to direct us. Even though life has been hard, we continue to receive blessings as we strive to do what we know is right. Our most recent blessing was our son who was recently born just 11 months after we buried our daughter. Our family is so blessed to have the gospel in our lives.

How I live my faith

I'm in primary, which is participating with the children at church. Every third Sunday, I teach the children a lesson. I love introducing the gospel to them and teaching about Jesus Christ. I especially love when they experience an "Aha" moment, when they understand a new concept of our religion. I'm also a visiting teacher, I go with a friend and we check in and keep tabs on three sisters in in our ward. We make sure to let them know if they ever need anything they shouldn't hesitate to ask. We recently took dinner to one who had a baby. This has created a friendship between all of us and has helped me get to know many of my neighbors.
