Hi I'm Katie.

I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a daughter of God. I am a wife to my best friend. I am a stay at home mom to 3 active and wonderful children. I am a red belt in karate and love, love, love training in the martial arts. I love reading books and watching movies. I enjoy cooking healthy, yet yummy food. I enjoy talking to people and hearing about their lives and experiences. I am always amazed by the uniqueness of every individual. Seven years ago I was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis. Through this experience, I have found that I am a fighter, I am determined, I am learning, I am striving, I am growing, I am relying on my Savior.

Why I am a Mormon

I've grown up my whole life in the church. However, as the years have gone by my testimony and my conviction of the gospel has grown and has become a part of who I am. The gospel gives me purpose and a foundation in a world that is ever changing and confusing. I can go to the scriptures, to the words of the prophets (past and present) or to my knees in prayer and I can find answers to life's questions. I find answers that bring peace and comfort in times of darkness and doubt. And it is a great comfort, knowing and believing that God hears and answers my prayers. He knows me. He knows my strengths and my weaknesses and he is guiding my life. I am His daughter. I have been taught this truth since I was a small child. And every day I grow in my conviction of this powerful truth. This gospel and this church is centered on the Savior, Jesus Christ. In fact it bears His name: The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. Throughout my church experience I have learned about the life and teachings of the Savior. I have learned the stories and the truths taught in the New Testament. His life is an example to me. Through His life and His teachings I have become a better wife, mother, sister, daughter, friend and neighbor. I love my Savior, Jesus Christ and I am so grateful to belong to His church.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by striving to be and do as my Heavenly Father would have me. Every morning I start my day with prayer and I ask a loving Heavenly Father for his care and his guidance. Throughout the day, I keep a prayer in my heart. I am constantly seeking my Heavenly Father’s help in my life. It may be a prayer seeking for help in caring for a sick child, or how to befriend a neighbor or how to speak with more kindness. When I heed the promptings of the Holy Ghost and keep the commandments, Heavenly Father guides me and molds me into the person he would have me be. I live my faith by serving others. Over the last 5 years, I have served with the youth in my church. I love the youth and the strong people they are. I work in my children's classes at their school. I enjoy serving my friends and my neighbors by watching their children, lending a listening ear or bringing them goodies. Through service I live my faith.
