Hi I'm Karen

. I grew up outside of Kokomo,Indiana. I am retired from GM. I'm a Mormon

About Me

I love to read good books & clean houses. I volunteer at school one day a week, I like to help out the teachers & students. I love kids, but am not a mother, that is not by choice. I took a few courses in collage & worked in a factory for 31 years & retired from GM in Kokomo, Indiana. I have been married to the same person for 34yrs. We live outside a little town & see deer quite often. I like to walk to keep healthy. I love being retired & doing what I want when I want. I have two younger brothers & a lot of brother & sister-in laws! I love family & try to stay close to them.

Why I am a Mormon

I joined the church b/c I knew it was true after the missionary lessons taught by two young men serving missions for the Church. I know the Joseph Smith is a true prophet of God just as Thomas S. Monson is today! I love reading the Book of Mormon over & over again. I know that God does answer prayers even if he says "no' at times. I love my ward & getting to know people by serving with them in callings. I love primary the best, it has helped me learn to raise children since I don't have any, I would have liked to have had six children but Heavenly Father has a different path for me to take & it has been a good one. I need God in my life & don't know how people can get along w/out him. I believe all the Church teaches & try to do my best. I love going to the Temple & doing work for my family. I am the only member in my family & my faith has gotten me through all the difficulties in this life. I hope my family will join the church b/c It is dear to me & I know it to be true

How I live my faith

I love to do visiting teaching b/c you meet & get to know people that way. I love living in a country that you can pray anytime you need too. I read my scriptures every day b/c I have found out that my day goes better when I do. Also when someone is talking about a scripture story I can relate b/c I have read it over & over to. I have to do family home evening by myself b/c my husband is not a member & that is o.k.,it keeps me doing something that I might not do otherwise. I have not always done it until someone asked what do you do for it. It got me to thinking that I need to do it even if it is by myself & that has helped me do it now. That is one of the neat things about the church, there is always someone to help you grow in an area that you are weak in & you can help someone grow too even when you don't know you are doing so. As I said I love primary & am teaching a class now, I have taught the teens once or they taught me, I have served in other areas of the church & the neat thing is in whatever calling you have you grow so much & are helping building the Lord's kingdom at the same time.
