Hi I'm Les

I grew up and graduated High School in California. I work for the School District. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I enjoy golfing and bowling for activity and exercise. I like being creative around the house and yard, and enjoy helping others with their projects if I can.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born into a Mormon family. But, that doesn't mean that I've always been a faithful member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. I was taught in Sunday School that we were God's children, and also about the Prophet Joseph Smith. But, somewhere along the line I had trouble excepting things or ideas that couldn't be proven by something I could see or touch. I had no faith in anything else. If I wanted to know who we really were, the response would depend on who you asked. So, for a long time I didn't attend church. About twelve years ago my wife and I were visiting family members in Utah. The conversation turned to the lives of many important people in history. I wondered if maybe they were destined to achieve the things they did. Well, that led me talk about the Joseph Smith story, which at the time I didn't have a testimony of. My Uncle called my attention to a Chapter in the Book of Mormon, which contained a proficy given by a man 2000 years ago. His name was Joseph of Egypt. I can't explain why, maybe because I really wanted to know with all my heart whether or not Joseph Smith was a Prophet and had seen and spoken to God the Father and His Son Jesus Christ, but not long after those words were read to me I new with a certainty that Joseph Smith was a prophet. And, because I knew that, I also knew that God lived and that we are his children, and that the Book of Mormon must be true. I came to understand later, that the Holy Ghost revealed that truth to me because I truly desired to know. That knowledge has changed my life.

How I live my faith

I try to always keep the covenants I have made with my Father in heaven and obey his commandments. I try to be an example to others by being helpful, and serving in different capacities as I am called on to do within our Ward. My wife and I try to make our home a place were all who visit will feel welcome. And, will feel the tranquility and comfort we enjoy.
