Hi I'm Moroni

I'm an athlete, an eagle scout, a missionary, super goofy, o and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm a college student who loves all sports. I played football, basketball, wrestling, track, baseball, soccer, tennis and a few others. I was pretty popular in high school, and generally got along with everybody. I was a go to guy for people who were going through problems and had alot of helpful things to say. I love music, movies, video games, and T.V. I've also been lucky enough to have been an extra in a few movies and T.V. shows. It is amazing to see the process behind making a movie, and then being able to see yourself on the big screen. I love meeting new people and becoming friends with them. I am a huge teaser, I love joking around with people. And now I am lucky enough to have the privilege to serve a full time mission in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. My life experiences have made it where I get along well with people. My family has come from nothing to where we are today, mainly by the sacrifices made by my father. In 2006 he died while serving in Afghanistan. My mother then took up both roles of mother and father and has done an incredible job. Without our faith, I am not sure whether we end up where we are today.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints because of the strong spirit that comes with it. What I have learned from the gospel is in accordance with what people in society today hold as great values. I have never been led astray while I have lived righteously. A huge part of why I am a Mormon is because they teach where we are from, why we are here, and where we are going. It teaches that families can be together forever. What other religion can tell you this? My father died overseas in the military and I have lost a brother to disease, yet I do not feel like they are gone from me because I know we will be together again in the world to come. Nothing else could give me such comfort. Also one phrase from the Bible assures me of this church, and it says to the effect of God is the same yesterday, today, and tomorrow. Why would he go back on his word?

How I live my faith

I help the missionaries in my area find and teach people. I feel that having me with them will show that we are normal everyday people. Every member a missionary. I also participate in volunteer work around my city, not because of the church, but because of the joy I feel when I do so. I feel the most fulfilled when I am sharing my love with other people. That is the easiest way, for me, to show my faith in Jesus Christ. If he loved all of us enough to die for us, what small task is it for me to share my love for him by loving other people

Can you tell me about Mormon customs: how you dress for church, what holidays you celebrate, etc.?

We dress for church as if the Lord was going to attend: dresses, suits, etc. We try to be modest in our clothing also; we try to avoid showing bare shoulders, cleavage, keep the abdomen covered, and keep dresses and skirts at an appropriate length (this is mostly for women). We celebrate every holiday that the typical American family would celebrate. The only holiday that we have provisions for is Halloween; we avoid satanic masks and cross dressing. This goes for the members collectively, not specifically to each person. Show more Show less

What do Mormons believe about family?

Mormons believe that families have been ordained of God. Before we came to earth, we lived with our Heavenly Father in a family setting. We have been sent to earth in families so that we can learn and grow together. The most important thing I learn from my family is love. Family is where we can usually feel the most love and security. And the love that we share for each other here will be carried on in heaven where we will remain in family units. Families are meant to be eternal. Show more Show less

How can we stop the spread and influence of pornography?

I believe we can do this by getting awareness out in the public of how it can destroy families. When people realize how it corrupts the soul, it will become a precedence in the national forum. Pornography not only can harm you, but all those around you as well as it places unrealistic thoughts and expectations in your head. It can easily consume your life. It is one of the most highly addictive habits in the world today and needs to be a bigger concern than what it is now. Show more Show less
