Hi I'm Ariel

Nothing fancy, just trying to make our world better by living right in my own small sphere. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

A lover of nature, literature, athletics, and quiet time. I am a mother of four children, a wife of 11 years, a sister, and a daughter. Though a nomadic Westerner at heart, my family and I currently reside in the deep South of the United States.

Why I am a Mormon

Because there is no denying the Book of Mormon or the spirit that comes along with it. You can complicate religion endlessly. You can intellectualize yourself into all kinds of dark corners. You can claim value conflicts or feel personal insult from imperfect people. But that book came through divine gift.

How I live my faith

Though descended from plenty of Mormon pioneer stock and raised in the church, it took me until adulthood to develop a personal testimony. I struggled for many years to reconcile the conflicts between my identity and the perfect Mormon stereotype. But I have learned that the gospel is all-encompassing, and the gift of God's plan is free agency. We are all different, whether it be socially, physically, politically, etc., and that is the way it is intended to be. The gospel message, though, is for all of us. Believing in the teachings of Christ and showing faith in gospel principles, has brought nothing but happiness to my life. Because of it, I strive each day to be a better person in a million small and simple ways.
