Hi I'm Brian

I'm a VP of Operations by day, a pipe organ builder by night, a husband and dad. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

My most important role is being a husband to a lovely and brilliant wife, and father to an amazingly beautiful and intelligent daughter. Apart from that, my passion is the pipe organ. I tune and repair pipe organs in many churches of all faiths in my area and regularly play concerts in churches and theatres around the United States. I've even played the pipe organ in the Mormon Tabernacle and the LDS Conference Center! I love golfing and gardening and reading, Sunday naps in my hammock, and a fire in the fireplace.

Why I am a Mormon

I joined the church in 2008, after living many years in many other faiths -- an experience for which I am grateful, and which helped prepare me to accept the restored gospel of Jesus Christ. I know that Jesus Christ lives and that He loves me and that only through His atonement for my sins can I follow the path through this life that will return me to everlasting glory. Through the restored gospel I have a greater understanding of where I came from, why I'm here, and my role as a husband and father. I love the Temple and the covenants I keep as a member of the church. I am thankful for a living prophet; the Prophet Joseph, and all those who have gone before and restored this gospel, built the Lord's church, and who have spread the good news around the world. I have found that my life is much better when I live the commandments. A favorite scripture of mine is in the New Testament in Jude 24-25. "Now unto him that is able to keep you from falling, and to present you faultless before the presence of his glory with exceeding joy, to the only wise God our Saviour, be glory and majesty, dominion and power, both now and ever. Amen." I have a testimony that following Jesus Christ is the only way that I will ever be "presented faultless" before God. Being a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints helps me in more ways that I can even express. I know the restored gospel is true and that it has radically changed my life for good.

How I live my faith

I try to live my faith daily, be it through my morning prayer before work, or my attempts to find the good in every situation. I believe St. Francis of Assisi said something like "Preach the Gospel always, and when necessary use words." I love that quote, because it challenges me to be an example of my faith to those I meet. I also live my faith by serving in my church. I have been a Sunday school teacher, organist, music director, and I work with our local leadership in a variety of ways. I've had the opportunity to use music as a way to spread the gospel. Recently I conducted a mixed choir and orchestra from four neighboring Stakes in two performances of Handel's Messiah, and in performance at the Kirtland Temple, in celebration of it's 175th anniversary. As an organist, I am able to give performances throughout the country and I share the message in song, playing a setting of our pioneer hymn, "Come, Come Ye Saints." People's hearts are touched by the story of the Saints.
