Hi I'm Steve

I'm a 62 year old veteran and a husband, father, and grandfather who loves music and sports; and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm a disabled veteran, married (40 years), father of 8, and grandfather of 26. I've lived in 9 states and two other countries and love to explore the wonders of my country. I enjoy reading (science fiction/fantasy) and helping others through volunteer service.

Why I am a Mormon

I became a Mormon when I was 18. A friend invited me to go to church with her and while I was there a Sunday School teacher gave me a copy of the Book Of Mormon. I was asked to read the first few chapters of the Book Of Mormon and apply a promise contained in the book to ask through prayer if the Book Of Mormon was true. I was promised that if the Book Of Mormon was true the Holy Ghost would witness of that truth to me. After I read the first few chapters I prayed to ask if the Book Of Mormon was true. Later that night I received an undeniable answer that the Book Of Mormon contained the word of God. I love being a Mormon. The gospel of Jesus Christ contained in the Bible and the Book Of Mormon give me the guidance I need to live a full and happy life. "Man is that he might have joy."

How I live my faith

Since I'm disabled it can be difficult contributing fully to my community but I do what I can. I have served as a volunteer at The Children's Hospital in Denver as well as at the Denver VA hospital. I also serve in my church as a member of the branch presidency. I also served in the Denver Temple performing sacred ordinances for those who have passed on. I try to live my faith by following the example of the Savior in serving others and by continuing to learn all that I can about God and Jesus Christ so that I may be worthy to live with them again.
