Hi I'm Jadon

I'm a Mormon. I grew up in the church in Utah. I'm now serving a mission in Atlanta, Georgia north.

About Me

I was raised in the church and I've lived in Utah my entire life. I was adopted a few weeks after I was born by parents who were also raised in the Gospel of Jesus Christ. I love music almost more than anything else and I play the drums. I attended Weber State University and played in the Drumline on bottom bass and I played in the Weber State Indoor Drumline on the same instrument. I love movies, comic books, and drawing.

Why I am a Mormon

I was raised in this church, but it wasn't until a few months ago that I realized just how much God and his Son, Jesus Christ, have done for me. I realized that my Father in Heaven has never left my side. I know this just by the fact that I was adopted by parents who were members of the church and raised me to do the right things. I realized that God has always been there right next to me through every trial in my life, big or small. I grew up believing in the Book of Mormon and I read the entire book and prayed to know it was true, but I never thought to pray to understand it. When I finally did pray for understanding, the Lord opened my eyes and I have learned so much. It was so hard to get myself to read, but now I can't put it down. The principles, doctrine, and teachings that I have learned and studied strengthen my faith and my testimony, but more importantly, it strengthens my connection to my Father in Heaven. Once you build your faith upon Christ, nothing can take it away from you. No one can tell you that it's not true, because you know by the Holy Ghost that it's true. I know that we are all our Father's children and that He loves us so much that he had his Son create this very earth that we live upon and sent that same Son to us to atone for each and everyone of our sins and to overcome physical death so that we can all one day live with our Eternal Father.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by preaching the restored gospel of Jesus Christ as an ordained minister, a missionary, called by the living prophet, Thomas S. Monson. By praying, reading, studying the scriptures, and following the Spirit, my faith is increased daily.

Do Mormons worship Joseph Smith?

No, we don't worship Joseph Smith. We know that he was a man just like the rest of us. But, we also know that it is through this man that the church that Christ Himself established upon the earth hundereds of years ago was established and restored. This man was called by God to be the Prophet during that time and it was by the power of God that he translated the words engraved in the gold plates (an ancient record of the prophets in the Americas) into what is now called, the Book of Mormon. He may have just been a man, but he is one that certainly deserves respect and our immense gratitude. The integrity of that man was deep and it was pure. He was told by a messenger of God that he had an important work to do and that he would be hated and loved for it by the entire world. The fact that he did not run upon hearing that alone is humbling, but after thinking about all that he endured for his brothers and sisters, the losses that he suffered, I am filled with the Spirit and knowledge that he's a living prophet. All that Brother Smith did was done in the name of our Savior. Show more Show less
