Hi I'm Rachael

I play bassoon. I read a new book a month. Pinochle is my favorite game! And I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I love my life! Among the many blessing I have in my life, I have the opportunity to study music and editing (not together) at BYU. In my family I have two younger brothers, and they are two of my best friends in the whole world. I really love watching the Chicago Blackhawks, they make my soul smile n_n! I also really like Doctor Who and Nintendo, also the card game pinochle. I also write quite a bit, and I've made a lot of friends across the world because of our connection there. I like scarves more than hats, and I still play the Pokemon games. I'm really a child at heart, I think. In short, I love sharing things I love!

Why I am a Mormon

I grew up in the church, and my parents were a strong example to me of the blessings that I can receive through living the gospel. With everything else that I've done in my life there's always been a definite end to it, but the gospel continues to strengthen and bless my life in ways that I could've never imagined. Looking back I am frequently reminded of all the times God has had a direct influence on guiding me to where I've needed to go, and I'm grateful for His patience with me and my inability to learn quickly when He's trying to show me how best to do something :) I know that the Book of Mormon is a true testament of Jesus Christ, and from that grain of truth I can know that Joseph Smith was a prophet who translated it with the help of God. I know there is a prophet on the Earth today, and I will follow his words until the end of time. I love my life and nothing even comes close to the knowledge that I have about the gospel, and I KNOW that my Heavenly Father watches out for me and has a plan for my life to be the best it can.

How I live my faith

As is with anything, my life has been a constant flux of learning new things and applying them. I grew up in Chicago, and when I was there I lived my life the best that I knew how - respecting myself, respecting my Father in heaven and respecting others around me. I always tried to be a good example for them and learned more about myself as time went on. I wasn't perfect by any means, but I was always learning! In recent years, I've learned the value of scripture study and genuine prayer. I feel as though I live my faith by continually doing my best to walk the walk. As I mentioned before, I love sharing other things I love! I show my faith to Heavenly Father by helping others to come closer to Christ too, no matter what situation or circumstance they find themselves in. We all can use a little more love in our lives, right? :) I live my life the best I can and make sure I am always learning- that's the best I can do!
