Hi I'm Kathy

I call the Pacific Northwest home. But I currently live in Indiana. I am a wife, mother and grandmother. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a Mother of 4 and a grand mother of 6! I love my family very much. And nothing is better than when we can all get together! All 3 of my sons served church missions to Uruguay, Brazil and Russia. My daughter was recently married in the Portland Oregon Temple. I am a former hair stylist. I love to cook. I love having a vegetable garden in the summer. I love jewelry and fashion. I love country music and rock and roll. I adore animals and have 2 dogs and a cat. As a kid I had horses and was a Barrel Racer. For the last few years we have lived on a soy/corn farm. Its great living in the country.

Why I am a Mormon

I was introduced to the church by my adult brother who was no longer living at home when I was almost 17. With the permission of my father I took the missionary discussions. I had visited several churches with my teenage friends prior to this and nothing seemed to make sense to me. While taking the discussions and reading the Book of Mormon and another book provided to me by my brother called a "A Marvelous work and a Wonder." I found answers to my questions about life and why I was here. I made a decision to be baptized. I have not regretted my decision. It has given me the guidelines by which to live my life and raise my family that were not present in my family while I was growing up. The blessings have been many.

How I live my faith

I have had many opportunities to serve in the church. Some of them have been working with the children in Primary which is for children 18 months to 12 years which I love. I have also been able to teach classes to other adult women in the women's organization. Currently I serve as a Secretary in the administrative part or Stake Primary. It has been a real help in my spiritual growth to be able to have these many opportunities. I also visit other women assigned to me every month to share with them a spiritual messages and check on their well being. This is also a great blessing as we all have these visits from other women and we know who to call on if we are sick, or in need or just would like friend to talk too.
