Hi I'm Amy G. Trauntvein

I've always been a member, I'm a mom, a wife and a daughter of God. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a wife of 21 years, and a mom of four busy kids! I am a stay-at-home mom because it was important to me to be here for my chilren, and we have had to make sacrifices in order for me to be a mom. :) My oldest child just started college, I have 2 chilren in middle school and my youngest just started Kindegarten. In my spare time (what I have of it, lol) I enjoy working in my yard gardening (both flower and vegetable), I love to read (read any good book lately?), I do yoga (it helps me relax after a long day) and I LOVE bargain and thrift store and yard sale shopping! It's really amazing what you can find for a great deal! My husband and I love to travel with our kids (are we crazy?)! We have taken them to Hawaii, England and all over the good ole U.S. of A.! Every summer we take a 1800+ mile (each way) road trip to visit family out west and have been to 34 of the 50 states, and counting!

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because I believe the Book of Mormon to be the word of God along with the Holy Bible. They compliment each other and both tesify of Jesus Christ. I also believe the family should be central to our lives and The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints teaches that. I believe that we have a Prophet here on earth to lead and guide us today, and I believe that Thomas S. Monson is that Prophet. Whenever I go to church or one of our temples, my soul feels at home. The church teaches that families and can be together forever through temple ordinances and living righteously. Why would I want to jeopardize that by choosing to live not in accordance to the teachings or our Savior and Redeemer, Jesus Christ? I love my church! I have family there, even though we are not related by blood. I don't know where I (or my kids) would be without the gospel in my life.

How I live my faith

I love going to church every Sunday. It fills me up and helps me get through the long weeks of everything that I do. If there is ever a time when I can't go (if I'm sick etc.) I truly miss it. I am the Secretary in the Young Women's program (girls aged 12-18) and also the Personal Progress Leader which is a goal oriented program and I guide them and help them accomplish the goals they are striving for. I love working with the youth! They are beautiful, inside and out!
